Rising from the grey waters like rusted skeletons of a forgotten war, the Maunsell Forts stand abandoned against the horizon — eerie steel towers chained to the sea bed.
Built during World War II to defend Britain from enemy aircraft and mines, they now loom as decaying sentinels of a vanished conflict.
