RESPECT~ ACHIEVE~ PERSEVERE ~SUCCEED Welcome to Risley Avenue Primary School. In September 2012 a dedicated food technology classroom was opened.
We are situated in Tottenham in the London Borough of Haringey, close to Bruce Castle Park and Bruce Castle Museum, on The Roundway. The school lies within the Bruce Castle Conservation Area and is a Local Listed Building of Merit built in 1913. Located over a large site we have our own school garden, which our children enjoy using to grow vegetables and plants. Over the years we have invested in

Stuart Lawrence was kind enough to spend some time today with out Year 5’s to impact some words of wisdom. He spoke about having a growth mindset and how small changes can help them better.
He also posed for selfies and signed copies of his book *Silence is Not an Option*

Year 3 & 4 had a wonderful author visit from the brilliant Sufiya Ahmed. She is best known for her historical adventures and stories that highlight diverse cultures (Rosie Raja series, My story series & Time travellers series).
She gave an informative assembly and Year 4 then had a workshop with the author where they read an extract from one of her books and worked in pairs to create a blurb for their own story!
There were some fantastic ideas where children travelled back to different time zones and stopped historical events from happening. The children had a brilliant time and there are some potential future authors among us!
🌟 Mindful Moments in Year 3N 🌟
Mindful Brain Breaks from the Classroom Grooves YouTube channel have been embedded into the culture of Ms. Nantongo’s Year 3N classroom. One favourite is “Follow the Line to Clear Your Mind.”
Students slowly trace the moving line with their finger, creating a calm moment to reset and refocus. These short breaks support concentration, coordination and self-regulation, especially when transitioning between lessons.
Students in the class have shared that these brain breaks help them feel relaxed, focused, calm, happy and refreshed.
Brain breaks and music in the classroom are important tools that help students regulate their energy, support wellbeing and return to learning with greater focus. A simple activity making a big difference for every learner. 💛
