This week our art projects at Haf4 Stanwell Events have been all about water…ocean themed drawings and sun prints. We also made rain sticks to summon some rain but as there was no sign of anything but sun, sun and more sun, the only option was water fights 💦 🌞

I have been dying to try out this lovely clay project for a while and it was the perfect project for Year 6 leavers. We had a few technical problems so I might need to tweak our templates but overall it went brilliantly and was very well received. These are some of the ones made by the children Pyrcroft Grange Primary School (original idea from Renae Greene I think, I saw it on Stephanie Arem )
Perfect weather for sunprints 🌞 I did a fun session with the nursery children on Tuesday. We had to do everything at speed because the sun was so bright. We only left our papers out for a couple of minutes then sprinted to the sink to wash them. We used plastic sea creature toys and fish tank seaweed as our stencils. 🦀🐠🦞
Take a look around the lovely library at the Pre Prep of The boys, from Nursery to Year 2, drew some wonderful sea creatures which I traced out and painted on the walls of their library to create an amazing underwater world. I think the characters they created are fantastic and actually deserve to feature in a book of their own 🐙🐠🦀🐬🦑🐳

Work in progress self portraits by Year 6 students Pyrcroft Grange Primary School This idea was inspired by a fantastic Year 8 project done by my amazing art teacher friend Grainne Roche Hopefully they will be finished in about a week. They just need to add their favourite things around them ❤️

I’ve had a lovely few days making terracotta clay tiles with all of the Young Carers at Boxgrove Primary. I love working in small groups and getting a chance to chat and make art together….nothing better ☺️ Thanks to Boxgrove for the warm welcome as always ❤️

Lovely day in Stanwell! It was Stanwell Multicultural Day and we were creating flags to celebrate the wonderful local community. Lots of the children were keen to do their own version of the Union Jack, with vibrant colours and sometimes words and pictures added. I didn’t get a chance to take many photos but I loved the ones that combined the flags of two countries together, showing pride both in the UK and in their own heritage (or sometimes the heritage of Messi or Ronaldo!) Thanks to Stanwell Events for putting on a wonderful day….great food, great dancing, great music and all round happy vibes bringing the community together ☺️
