Meri Rasoi - My Indian Kitchen

Meri Rasoi - My Indian Kitchen Follow me to discover authentic Indian home cooking, delicious recipes and Indian cooking classes in London. So, I founded ‘Meri Rasoi’ cooking school in 2011.

I’m an Indian chef and entrepreneur living in London. Born and raised in India but been calling London my home since 2005. Over the years, I’ve witnessed the love British have for Indian food, yet the perception often revolves around the dishes served in local takeaways, overshadowing the fresh, nutritious, and diverse meals enjoyed daily in Indian homes. In Hindi, a Rasoi means more than just a k

itchen, it’s a place where generations pass down recipes and techniques. In my classes, you’ll experience the joy of blending spices, discovering regional ingredients, and mastering techniques that make Indian cooking a magical experience. Having grown up in an armed forces family, I was exposed to diverse Indian flavours. Little did I know that this culinary journey would become my life’s passion. After a career in marketing in the UK, I took a leap to pursue my love for food. But that’s not all! In 2019, my husband and I co-founded COOKAWAY, the UK’s first immersive world food recipe kit brand. With passionate chefs, we bring global flavours to your kitchen, making every meal a journey. There is a selection of my Indian menus too that you can order for home delivery in mainland UK. My cooking classes are a celebration of Indian home cooking and I look forward to sharing my love for Indian food with you. Email: [email protected]

A little bank holiday escape to the stunning coastal villages around Cardigan Bay in South Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 - such a gorgeous stretch of the British coastline. We packed in long walks (one that challenged me to a whole new level… note to self: get fitness in order 🤦🏽‍♀️🤪), beach days, slow days and plenty of doing absolutely nothing. Cooking with the kids, late-night movies, Welsh cakes, fire pits, cosy cottage evenings and lots of laughs. ❤️ A few days of fresh air, sea views and good old family time - pretty perfect way to say goodbye to summer. ✨

P.S. definitely had a few too many Welsh cakes 😋👌🏽

A little Mumbai → Goa train journey 🚂💚

Having travelled so much across India by train growing up, this journey brought back so many memories. Neither Sahil Verma nor I had been on an Indian train for years, so it felt really special to be back and we wanted the kids to experience a little bit of that too. The chai, the stations, watching the world go by… all those little things felt so familiar. ❤️

I’d also heard so much about the Konkan Railway journey from Monisha Rajesh and it really did live up to the hype. Especially in the monsoons — the lush green landscapes, waterfalls, tunnels, little villages and misty hills were just stunning. 🤩

🍂 ✨Autumn Indian cooking classes are back!

Exactly one month to go until I open the doors to my first class of the season on 19th September — and we’re kicking things off with a proper Punjabi Home Feast. ❤️

Think finger-licking Butter Chicken, slow-cooked Dal Makhani, Aloo Gobi and flaky Parathas… all the Punjabi favourites I grew up loving and can’t wait to cook with you.

If you fancy getting stuck into some proper Indian home cooking, come join me in my South West London kitchen for a relaxed, hands-on and very personal cooking experience. 🥘
I’ve got just a few spaces left across my September dates, so

DM me for details or book directly through my website.(Link in bio)

Who’s joining me for an autumn of good food? 🍂👇

PS: if you can’t cook with me then I have lots of recipes for you to try on my website or order one of my recipe boxes Cookaway 🤩

India photo dump - Part 3 Goa! 🏝️⛪️❤️

A little slice of Old Goa or Velha Goa with Soul Travelling 📍 Goa | Offbeat, Heritage and Cultural Trails 🇮🇳✨

We spent the morning exploring the stories, churches and hidden corners of Goa’s old capital before heading to the colourful lanes of Fontainhas — the Latin Quarter of Panjim. From grand Portuguese-era architecture to a local bakery stop and a peek inside a beautiful Indo-Portuguese home, it was such a lovely way to see a different side of Goa.

And a big shoutout to our guide Bob, who made the whole walk so interesting and fun! 🙌🏽 If you’re in Goa and fancy doing something a little different, this one is definitely worth adding to your list. ✨

Mumbai photo dump, part 2 🇮🇳😍

One of the highlights of our trip was doing the heritage walk with the family, exploring the gorgeous Art Deco buildings around South Bombay, the Oval Maidan and Marine Drive.

I couldn’t resist photographing all these beautiful buildings- there’s something about walking around South Bombay where time feels like it’s stood still. Walking tours are such a lovely way to slow down and really connect with a city, and this one was such a treat.

Loved hearing all the stories behind the architecture and how this part of Bombay came together in the 1930s, when Art Deco and jazz were making their way to India.

Big shoutout to Jimmy from Khaki Tours for bringing it all to life! And to my husband Sahil Verma and daughter, the best holiday planners, for adding such interesting and eclectic things to our holiday diary 🙌❤️

🇮🇳❤️ The simple joys of being back home. The hum of a busy Indian kitchen, pressure cooker whistles in the background, big pots quietly simmering away, the aroma of spices filling the house, endless cups of chai, family all around, enjoying the last of the delicious mangoes and soaking up rainy Mumbai days. Just soaking up the everyday. ☔️❤️🥭🙏

And that’s a wrap on my last cooking class before a little summer break. ☀️

Such a lovely morning spent cooking Chicken Biryani with Paul and Aakash. It was especially nice to welcome Paul back after 6 years since he last joined one of my classes! We spent a few hours cooking, chatting and of course, enjoying a delicious meal together.

A big thank you to everyone who’s joined me in the kitchen this year so far. I’m taking a little break for the summer, but I’ll be back in the autumn. If you’ve been thinking about joining a class, all my autumn dates are now live on the website. Hope to see some of you in the kitchen soon! ❤️

What a fantastic Punjabi Feast cooking class today ❤️✨🙌

There’s something really special about sharing the food, flavours and stories I grew up with. Punjabi food is all about warmth, generosity and bringing people together and that’s exactly what today felt like around the table.

Thank you to everyone who came along and cooked with me, and so lovely to also have my friend and fellow chef join us too ✨
