Carols in the Wildlife Garden — Bangers & Smash Celebrate Christmas in true festive style with singing and wreath-making in the Mother Goose Wildlife Garden!

Flying the flag for two upcoming outdoor events for in the SE London area 💚

This Saturday (26 Oct) from 11.30am-4pm, trainer extraordinaire, Marlon Gibbins, will host a free event in the Mother Goose Wildlife Garden in Camberwell 🪴

There'll be an open fire where kids can enjoy the delights of making damper bread, toasted marshmallows and cinnamon apples. Visitors can also create woven forest eyes and magical journey sticks with natural materials along with playful instruments to bring some music to the garden 🎶

(The Wildlife Garden is accessed via the path to the right of Flats 21-26, Wanley Road, SE5 8AT [close to the junction of Wanley Road and Greendale]. Look out for the round sign in the hedge.)

And on Monday (28 Oct) from 1-2.30pm, our very own Kitty will be running a family music and craft session at Brockwell Park Community Greenhouses in Herne Hill 🪴

As well as singing and dancing to seasonal songs, kids will collect their own fruits and seeds and use them to make pumpkin selfies and junk shakers 🎶

Here's Kitty with some of our colleagues from Crystal Nurseries in Peckham, Nunhead and Lewisham ❤️

Over the last two months, we've had a blast learning songs from as well as dancing and playing along to African music with babies, toddlers and preschoolers 🎶

This week, all three nurseries held celebrations. As well as sharing food from Africa & the Caribbean, staff and children sang songs from Nigeria (in the Yoruba and Igbo languages), Ghana, Côte D'Ivoire, Kenya, Malawi & Jamaica and danced to music from Uganda & South Africa 🪘

Kitty also ran a session for parents and carers and was rewarded with fried plantain and puff puffs to take home 😋
