This year, we welcomed 13 MPs to see the impact of food education firsthand, and understand the importance of ensuring that every child has access to nutritious food and has the skills to cook it.
We know that children in schools with strong food education are twice as likely to eat five a day, and are far more likely to make healthy choices both at school and at home. If we want to support this generation to be the healthiest ever, we must make sure that every child and young person has the practical skills and knowledge to nourish themselves for life.
A huge thank you to all the councillors, public health leads and funders who visited our markets and programmes, and supported the children and young people involved.
Special thanks to Dr Simon Opher MP, Mohammad Yasin MP, Liam Conlon MP, Neil Coyle MP, Rushanara Ali MP, Margaret Mullane MP, Luke Pollard MP, Uma Kumaran MP, Hannah Spencer MP, Afzal Khan MP, Catherine McKinnell MP, Dame Chi Onwurah MP, and Mary Glindon MP.
