At Oasis, enrichment isn’t an add-on it’s a core part of how we help every child grow in confidence.
We know that some of the most important moments in education happen beyond the classroom, and these are often the ones young people remember long after they leave us.
Across our academies, enrichment takes lots of different forms:
At Oasis Academy South Bank, Tell Me Tuesday gives pupils a real voice. Each week, children respond to a big question and then discuss their ideas in small groups. It helps them learn how to express themselves and shows them their views matter.
At Oasis Academy Lord's Hill, students take part in Dance Live, combining creativity, teamwork and performance. From rehearsals to the final show, they build discipline and resilience while also supporting their wellbeing.
At Oasis Academy Leesbrookk, SEND pupils take part in a unique residential PGL experience. Over two days, they step outside their comfort zones, build independence and develop confidence and life skills.
At Oasis Academy Skinner Street, enrichment goes hand in hand with the curriculum. Year 5 pupils take part in a ‘Survival Day’, linked to their class text, Kensuke’s Kingdom. This brings learning to life while also developing teamwork and problem-solving skills.
And these are just a few examples. There are hundreds more happening across our family of academies every day.
With the national conversation around enrichment growing, there’s a clear shift in how it’s being recognised.
It’s fantastic to see the Department for Educationent for Education and Department for Culture, Media and Sport's commitment to investing in young people, supporting communities and amplifying what’s already working well, as part of the Enrichment Benchmarks and 'Every Child Can' programme.
The new framework makes it clear that things like sport, arts, volunteering and outdoor learning are essential parts of a young person’s education.
You can read more about our approach to enrichment, including our involvement in and our own benchmarks in this Tes magazine article, co-written by our CEO, John Barnaby and the CEO of Big Education Trust, a family of three schools joining Oasis this September: https://bit.ly/4v4Nr8R

We were proud to see students from Oasis Academy Wintringham, Oasis Academy Immingham and Oasis Academy Nunsthorpe take part in the visit of His Majesty King Charles III to the Horizon Youth Zone in Grimsby.
This was a special moment reflecting the power of community partnerships and the impact of investing in young people, thank you to Heidi Stennett.
For our students, it was an inspiring experience - one that celebrates opportunity, belonging and the belief that every young person can thrive. 🧡

Fantastic to see our brilliant students from Oasis Academy MediaCityuk braving the rain this morning for a kick-about with BBC Breakfast's Mike Bushell.
As we celebrate the start of the FIFA World Cup, students shared their top tips on who they think will lift the trophy, and proudly represented their English, Scottish and Portuguese heritages, before stepping up for a round of penalties.

The rise of AI is creating new opportunities, but it's also bringing new safeguarding challenges for schools and trusts.
One area we're currently exploring is the growing use of AI image manipulation tools, including nudification websites, and the risks they pose to children and young people. It's a fast-moving issue and one that no single organisation has all the answers to. That's why we're pleased to be working with more than 40 trusts from across the country, as part of our membership of the National Association of Academy Safeguarding Advisors (NAASA) and the Confederation of School Trusts, to discuss emerging risks and consider how the sector can respond together.
The work is being led by Jon Needham, Director of Safeguarding at Oasis, whose knowledge and leadership have been invaluable in bringing people together around this important topic.
We have the that, by working together, we can help schools navigate these challenges with confidence, and the to keep adapting as technology continues to evolve.
If you'd also like to be part of the conversation, we'd love to hear from you!
