Our MSc students are truly enjoying their learning experience in London this week!📚 They’re diving into advanced theoretical knowledge while also exchanging real-world experiences from their work at top companies like Lufthansa, Atlas Elektronik, ZF Friedrichshafen and many more. This blend of academic and professional learning is helping them to grow into tomorrow’s global leaders.🌍✨

Celebrating almost 18 years of ECBM’s partnership with EBZ in Bochum! 🎉🤝✨

We were pleased to accept an invitation to the Open Day of our German partner school for vocational training in Bochum. Building on a long term collaboration, we spread the international spirit amongst EBZ‘s new starters, encouraging them to complete their Kaufmann/-frau International Certificate with ECBM. 🌎🎓💪

Thomas is one of our most cherished lecturers! We asked him what his favourite class was during his studies:

"I would like to say everything about media, but being the nerd that I happily am: English Place Names. Yes, a class about the names of villages, cities and places in England and their origins. What sounds like a sleeping aid for some really was exciting for me. It was wonderful to see how history, events, migration, languages, and people are inscribed in place names and how these names today are echoes from the past! Ever wondered where Chiswick has its name from? Yes, it has got to do with cheese! Check it out!"

We spoke to Halime, one of our - let's see what she shared about her ECBM journey:

Q: "How has the course at ECBM impacted your career? Your skills?"

A: "Working in the HR department requires not only practical knowledge, but also strong communication skills. It was only in November that I learned about the right problem-solving methods and tools as well as motivation theories, staff atidutes and behaviour and change management in the "Applied Management" course; in other words, exactly what is essential in my career!"

Q: "How do you manage to balance both work and studies?"

A: "It's a question of time management. I always used the first two weeks after the lecture to search for sources and spend time reading on my way to and from work and after work. This allowed me to get an overview and use the last few weeks for the writing process."

London in the sunshine - what could be better than this? Our views are fantastic, the air is fresh and cold and we are ready for what is to come in 2024!

We asked our Alumni Lisa what she enjoyed most about studying at ECBM: "The course helped me to see new perspectives and always look critically at views and ways of thinking from different angles!"

One of our highlights of 2023 was our team growing! We were able to welcome Melanie on board, who is now part of our team at ECBM and helps students with their journey at ECBM, organises events and so much more! We asked Melanie which course she would choose, if she was an ECBM student today:

"If I started studying at ECBM today, I would choose the Master of Science in International Business and Management. As I’ve already pursued a Master's degree in business, I am drawn to this programme for its emphasis on practical case studies and industry relevance. I believe it would provide me with a deeper understanding of real-world applications, enriching my knowledge and skills to navigate the complexities of international business. Also, comparing my full time studies with this part time degree, I believe that goes beyond theoretical concepts, as the students might be able to implement what they learn directly to their job/company. So coming from a solely academic study programme, the relevance to practice is something I would highly appreciate."
