If anyone is setting up in business, here is a lovely networking group you might want to consider. Based in West London, The Gaia Network was launched by three women, Ariane Eva Morin Morin, Grace Followheart Mae and Rozana Alia in October 2018 with the aim of creating a safe, welcoming and dynamic space for budding entrepreneurs. At the most recent event, participants were treated to a presentation on manifesting what you want and working to reduce negative thoughts, something that we all struggle with. Do contact either Grace or Ariane, or go to The Gaia Network page on Facebook to find out more and keep up to date with networking evenings.

We are all struggling with ourselves, battling to overcome the 'I' who doesn't know how to live in the present and create a new reality. I've struggled with my career intentions for years, and it's like starring in 'Groundhog Day'. I know the theory: change your thoughts, change your experiences. I start out with good intentions and then I lapse back into the familiar and the comfortable (which is not actually very comfortable).
Nothing will change unless I change the record. This week, I admitted to myself that, career-wise, I don't value myself. I don't value the contribution I make to the organisations I work for. I don't value my wisdom or my experiences.
As a supply teacher, I've been settling for a daily rate that an NQT would be getting. And I'm 50!!! So I made the decision this week to refuse assignments that do not acknowledge my experience in monetary terms. And I told myself it wasn't about being greedy; if I don't honour my work, why should anyone else?
Of course it's terrifying: I've got no work for next week, but I have to trust the universe will fill the space left by my standing up for myself. I set the intention to honour the value I bring to the table and match it with an action: to tell the agency that I can no longer work for £120 a day. I did just that, by email and over the phone. If they agree to a higher rate, great. If they don't, also great.
I've just started listening to Joe Dispenza again. Do watch his videos and see if what he says resonates with you.
Do you have an intention that you need to match with action? Share if you feel inspired.
Stay blessed, goal-getters!

I came late to The Greatest Showman: I was hearing This Is Me in a school I was working in, and didn't get why it was so popular until I heard it at a summer holiday camp last summer. The video was played halfway through lunch and every child stopped eating and sung along, and then I got it. The power in the song, the lyrics finally sunk in. Uplifting doesn't even begin to describe this. I've just watched a clip from The Graham Norton Show featuring Keala Settle. What an inspiration! What I love is her humility. She has an amazing talent, but doesn't realise it. And she says she'd been hiding for twenty-five years. How many of us are nuturing skills and talents that everyone else apart from us can see? And how many of us have had our shoulder to the wheel for years - decades - and not seen the fruits of our labours? Her story should encourage those of us who might be disheartened to continue. It will happen.

Happy New Year, dear goal-setters! Remember, if you've set goals, you don't have to go at them full pelt as soon as the clock strikes 12 and heralds a new year. Plan your actions, lay out what you are going to do each week, and go at it methodically and calmly. Setting and getting goals is more like a marathon than a 100m dash. I decided to do something different this year and have just put the finishing touches to the first issue of Get That Goal! magazine! Oh the wonders of the internet. Here's the link. Please have a browse and comment.
