Have your say on the future! 📢

We're encouraging our students to take part in The Big Future, a national survey led by the for England.

This is a chance for children and young people to share their views on what matters most to them, the challenges they face, and their hopes for the future. Their voices will help shape important conversations and decisions about children's lives across the country.

Parents and carers can find out more and support their child in taking part here: https://www.smartsurvey.co.uk/s/TheBigFuture/

A reminder that there are only a handful of spaces remaining on the Newham Community Learning trainee programme starting this September.

Trainees receive one to one support, gain classroom experience from day one and become part of a welcoming school community while they train.

A fantastic first step into teaching.

There are now only a limited number of places remaining on our September 2026 trainee programme.

This is an exciting opportunity for aspiring teachers to gain high quality training, practical classroom experience and ongoing support within Newham Community Learning schools.

We are proud to develop the next generation of educators and look forward to welcoming our new cohort this September.

On Friday, we were delighted to host 9 local primary schools at Eastlea for a rapid fire cricket tournament on our sports field overlooking Canary Wharf.

Schools involved: Kaizen Primary School, Gainsborough Primary School Tapscott Learning Trust, North Beckton, Ranelagh primary school PTFA, Selwyn Primary School, Ellen Wilkinson, Carpenters and Curwen.

It was a fantastic event, with brilliant energy throughout the day. Teams supported and cheered each other on amazingly, creating a really positive and exciting atmosphere. The vibes were great, and it was wonderful to see so many students enjoying sport together.

Our Year 10 Citizenship GCSE group visited City Hall to gain a deeper understanding of how devolved power works.

Students took part in an engaging two hour workshop and were able to see the chamber where meetings take place. Throughout the visit, they were a real credit to Eastlea, showing politeness, curiosity and respect.

To finish the day, the group enjoyed a trip on the cable car, which was a great experience for everyone.

We are very proud of how they represented the school.

We were proud to host this year’s Girls of the World event at Eastlea, welcoming over 170 primary school girls for a day of empowerment, confidence and creativity.

Students from Selwyn Primary School, Gainsborough, Manor, Star Primary School, Ravenscroft, Kaizen Primary School and Park took part in a range of inspiring workshops, from Capoeira and music making to exploring influential women in history, developing their voice and confidence, and creating their own empowering messages.

Throughout the day, students built confidence, expressed themselves and supported one another in a space designed to celebrate their potential. The energy, enthusiasm and positivity across the school made it a truly special event.

An inspiring evening at the Poetry By Heart event last night!

Our students delivered thoughtful and engaging performances, showcasing their talent and love for poetry. We are incredibly proud of their courage and commitment in taking to the stage.

A special mention to our incredible hosts, the Head Boy and Deputy Head Boy, who led the evening with confidence, professionalism and real charm.

Well done to all involved and thank you to everyone who made the event so special.

We are incredibly proud of our Eastlea community for coming together to support families this season.

Over the past few weeks, staff raised £180 towards Eid hampers. With the generous support of Morrisons in Canning Town, we were also able to put together Easter hampers. In addition, Ambition, Aspire, Achieve kindly donated 30 Easter eggs, helping us support even more families.

These hampers are now being distributed, and we are very grateful to everyone who contributed. A special thank you to Morrisons Canning Town for their generous donation and support.
