📚 On Saturday, it was National Read a Book Day, and to mark the occasion we asked our team to share their favourite childhood books.

💭✨ The responses were wonderful and filled with fond memories. From magical adventures to much-loved classics, your stories showed just how deeply books can shape our imaginations and stay with us well into adulthood.

✅ To help you feel confident when talking to parents, we’ve put together a handy guide on funded childcare. Depending on their child’s age and circumstances, families may be entitled to 15 or 30 hours of funded childcare and with recent government changes, even more families now qualify.

⏳ Applications for January 2026 are already open, so it’s important parents know they need to apply and provide their funding code in time.

🌟Nursery Spotlight: Kindred Little Learners 🌟

🐞 What an inspiring example of turning a simple garden activity into a rich early learning opportunity! Whilst the children explored the bug hotel, staff helped encourage careful observation, curiosity, and a deep respect for living things.

✏️ Back in the classroom, their thoughtful facilitation helped the children connect their discoveries to both creativity and critical thinking: sketching insects, comparing colours and shapes, and exploring diets and habitats.

🌍 This is a wonderful reminder of how intentional teaching moments foster early science skills, language development, and a deep respect for the natural world.

🫧 Kindred Wheathampstead embraced mindfulness outdoors with bubble blowing, creating simple moments of joy. The photos captured such genuine awe on the children’s faces.

🌿 Kindred Bournemouth brought the spirit of adventure with an outdoor obstacle course that had children moving, exploring, and beaming with excitement.

💭 Kindred Cambridge turned cloud gazing into a learning adventure with clever little boards, complete with windows to peek through and photos of cloud types for children to spot in the sky.

🎨 Kindred Cambourne got creative with nature art, encouraging children to explore textures, colours, and patterns using natural materials. A beautiful blend of sensory play and self-expression.
