Meet Dr Anton Beka, a King’s College London medical graduate whose journey into medicine is rooted in representation, community and a commitment to making healthcare more inclusive.

As the son of refugees, Anton understands the importance of trust and understanding between healthcare professionals and the communities they serve.

Through his work, including founding the Move Mountains Foundation, Anton is helping to bridge gaps in healthcare by supporting medical education initiatives and creating opportunities for communities that face greater barriers.

In this episode of King’s College London calling , he reflects the importance of having doctors who not only provide care, but also understand the experiences and challenges that shape people’s health.

A record-breaking year for King’s Maths School. 🎉

We’re very proud to celebrate the outstanding results achieved by the Class of 2026 at King’s College London Mathematics School. Across Maths, Further Maths and Physics A Levels, students achieved an impressive 72% A*, 90% A*-A and 95% A*-B grades. On average, students achieved two-fifths of a grade higher per entry than predicted by national data.

Established in partnership with King’s College London in 2014, King’s College London Mathematics School provides high-quality education in the heart of London, supporting talented young people to thrive in a challenging and inspiring academic environment. Through a broad programme of extracurricular learning, the school prepares students for further study and successful careers.

King’s has been named University of the Year for Social Inclusion and named one of the UK’s top 10 universities in the Daily Mail University Guide 2027. 🎉

The award recognises King’s initiatives to remove barriers to success throughout student educational journeys.

Our flagship social mobility projects include a range of programmes including Step Up Scholars, King’s Scholars, Scholars+ and the K+ programme all supporting young people to overcome barriers to education and progress to university.

Together, they aim to narrow the attainment gap, support pupils to progress to their next stage of education and help more young people see university as a realistic and achievable option.

Professor Kim Piper, Academic Director (Student Success), King’s College London, comments: “Universities have an important role to play in breaking down barriers for underrepresented students, empowering them to access and succeed in higher education. At King’s, we are committed to playing our part. Congratulations to JB Gill, who received a King's Fellowship at last week's Arts & Humanities graduation ceremony.

JB joined King's in 2006 to study Theology before taking a break to pursue a career in music. Since then, he's reached the X Factor finals with JLS, soundtracked our summers with hits including Beat Again, and built a successful career in broadcasting and television.

Returning to King's to celebrate this year's graduates, JB reflected: "This is a college that provides infinite opportunity to those who seek it."

Congratulations, JB - here's to our future changemakers in the Class of 2026! 🎓🎉
