It's International Women's Day! We wanted to take a moment to celebrate our co-founder and Principal of Perform Lucy Quick. Lucy initially worked as a professional actress in the West End and after working with children at a variety of drama schools - set up Perform in 2000. She also produces family theatre in the West End such as "Magical Merlin" and "Jungle Rumble" and last year presented the first ever Children's Theatre Festival in London - Perform in the Park!

Child development is at the heart of everything we do & our weekly classes are designed to build confidence & teach life skills that will be invaluable in future life.

Each week, professionally trained actors work with the children rehearsing songs, dances & scenes from a specially written show. On the last day of term, they combine what they've done into an inspiring performance for family and friends. 🎭

Did you know that learning songs is easier for children when they understand rhythm and beat? These are the building blocks of music that hold everything together! 🎶

29/02/2024

Rebecca is our Perform for Schools manager while our lovely Abby Restall is on maternity leave. Can you guess what her favourite Perform show is? 😍

28/02/2024

Our holiday courses are filled with fun and learning - not just drama, dance and singing but lots of fun games and even arts and crafts! This week, bookings opened for our Easter courses - visit our website to see if there's a course near you! Link in bio!

Time to learn a new song! Did you know all of our shows are written and composed by our own amazing Will Barnett? He has written over 30 shows for Perform, including West End productions, Magical Merlin and Jungle Rumble! Would you like to see us in the West End again...?

Navigating conflicts may feel overwhelming, but it's all part of the journey. As children develop their social and language skills, they learn to tackle challenges with problem-solving skills.

23/02/2024

This week we had lots of free trials! Here they are having fun learning our new Killa Dance with our fabulous teachers while improving their coordination and confidence skills! Don't forget that you can join Perform at any point of the term.

21/02/2024

Do you think they like our warm-up, "Fruit Salad"?

Rehearsals for our show are filled with laughter and excitement! We can't wait to share our final performance with grown-ups at the end of term. 👏

Remember, children can join us at any point. Book a free trial at perform.org.uk/try

Perform is not a typical stage school. We use drama as a fun and engaging way to support a child's development rather than focusing on technique and ability. Although we perform a show at the end of each term, this is not our only focus and we cover much more than this in each week's class.

17/02/2024

Empowering children to embrace their uniqueness cultivates confidence, leading the way for a resilient mindset! When kids believe in themselves, they approach challenges with positivity and determination.

16/02/2024

Concentration doesn't have to be sitting in silence! We teach our dance routines with actions to help boost the children's focus whilst having an amazing time dancing. And what's more, they are also improving their coordination through fun.

15/02/2024

Yesterday we visited one of our Ice Queen holiday courses and were blown away with the performances! The children learn a full show in 3 days! Here is a clip from their ice-breaking show.

11/02/2024

Last week was E-Safety week and what better way to celebrate it than having our Perform For Schools team visit your school! Facilitated by one of our trained DBS-checked teachers, they use imaginative creative resources, performing arts-based exercises and role-play scenarios to spark children's imaginations and bring your chosen subject matter alive. Have a question? Email us on [email protected] or call us on 0207 255 9134

06/02/2024

It's E-safety day! Online safety is crucial because it safeguards children from online risks, promotes responsible digital behaviour, and ensures a secure environment for exploration. Let's build a healthy relationship with technology from an early age.

05/02/2024

Unlocking the silent art of expression! 🤐✨ Mime in drama not only teaches kids the power of using their entire body but also storytelling through gestures, facial expressions, and movement. This week we'll discover the endless tales our bodies can tell!

04/02/2024

Our Frozen-themed Ice Queen holiday course is just around the corner! 🎶❄️ Join us for a holiday filled with fun, singing and dancing. With fantastic costumes, original songs, and confidence-boosting skills, it's the best treat for the half-term break.

Acquiring the skill to attentively follow directions is crucial in life. It enables children to understand requests, organise information, and ask for clarification when necessary. Observing, focusing and interpreting body language, we’ll see who can repeat some fun instructions

Exploring spaces! Spatial awareness means being aware of ourselves versus other people or objects within a space. We’ll bring to life the benefits of being spatially aware as we have fun moving around the room. One of our favourite games is "Don't take me away" where the children have to become an object at home and convince our teachers not to throw them away when they move house!
