"Nothing is impossible.
The word itself is, I'm possible. "
-Audrey Hepburn

Exploring, questioning, working systematically, visualising, conjecturing, explaining, generalising, justifying, proving...are all at the heart of mathematical thinking!!!

Assessment is the bridge between teaching and learning!!!
Let's build this bridge together 💻👩‍🏫

Amazing ❤️

Al-Khwarizmi was one of the first people in history to write about Algebra.
He lived in Baghdad around 780 to 850 AD and his book "Hisab Al-jabr w'al-muqabala" is where we get the word "Algebra" meaning - "restoration of broken parts".

..and the ancient Greek mathematician Euclid used geometric methods to solve quadratic equations (Algebra) way back in 309BC!

The history of mathematics is amaizing!!!

In celebration of Black History Month, we are shining a light on incredible Black mathematicians.

Starting with Euphemia Lofton Haynes. After earning degrees in mathematics and education, in 1943, Euphemia became the first African American woman to receive a PhD in mathematics.

An amazing role model for aspiring mathematicians 👏

Without mathematics, there's nothing you can do. Everything around you is mathematics. Everything around you is numbers.

Let your creativity go to infinity!

We think every day, but it’s hard to pinpoint what exactly we mean by the word. When we try to understand thought, we have to grasp thought by thinking about thought itself, which feels ever so slightly elusive and circular.

Merry Christmas to you ❤ all!!!

Whatever the situation is for you, I hope you’re happy, in peace, and safe!

Find the measure of angle A ?

Four century ago Galileo Galile declared: "The universe can not be read until we have learned the language and become familiar with characters in which it was written."
It was written in Mathematical language and the letters of triangles, circles and other geometrical figures without which means humans is impossible to comprehend a single word.

Why Does Self-Questioning Work?
Self-questioning is an effective metacognitive strategy as it encourages students to think more deeply about the material they are studying.

This strategy helps students improve their learning by helping them focus their attention and interact with the presented information. This leads to stronger connections, making it easier to retrieve the information at a later date.
There are some good questions:

1.Why does it make sense that…?
2.Why is this true?
3.What is the main point being made here?
4.Why would this fact be true for X and not for Y?
5.What are the similarities between X and Y?
6.What are the main differences between X and Y?
7.What would have happened if X did not occur?
8.Why does X cause Y to happen?
9.How does this link to what I learnt last week?
10.What part of this topic do I still not understand?
11.Do I agree with X’s opinion (and why)?
12.How would I argue against what Y said?
13.What solutions or strategies would fix this situation?

What might have been going through their mind when they said that?

Maths is vintage 🕰
it never goes out of style!!!

Thinking deeply about simply things!!!

Don't let math intimidate you, practice more and more again and again, ask questions at school or at home wherever you are.
But most important ask for help!!!

Non lasciare che la matematica ti intimidisce, esercitati sempre di più ancora e ancora, fai domande a scuola o a casa ovunque tu sia.
Ma sopratutto chiedi aiuto!!!
