Black History Studies is a social enterprise company which operates in the interest of the community by offering courses and events in Adult Education. We aim to empower the African and Caribbean community and enable them to develop self knowledge and identity through Black History and Culture. Black History Studies aim to provide a wide range of courses and activities which will provide people with the opportunity to pursue their interest in Black History and Black Studies. We also aim to provide high quality courses and activities that can be accessed by all within the community. We believe that Black History and Black Studies should be studied throughout the year and not just during Black History Month held in October. El-Hajj Malik El-Shabazz (Malcolm X) said that "Education is your passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to the people who prepare for it today". Black History Studies supports this view and encourages people to learn about Black History and Culture and use it to develop their lives and others.

Happy Birthday Dr Arthur France MBE

Born and raised on Nevis, Arthur arrived in Leeds in the north of England in 1957. He soon began to organise members of the local Caribbean community into a united force for social progress. But he is best known as the founder of the first Black-led Caribbean Carnival in Europe. This was in Leeds in 1967, but his idea for Carnival was also as a symbol of Emancipation and a vehicle for changing people’s lives.

Riley B. King, known professionally as B.B. King, was an American blues singer-songwriter, guitarist, and record producer. He introduced a sophisticated style of soloing based on fluid string bending, shimmering vibrato and staccato picking that influenced many later blues electric guitar players. ❤️💚🖤

Remembering Legendary Singer, songwriter And Musician BB King On His Birthday Today (September 16, 1925 – May 14, 2015). He was an American blues singer, electric guitarist, songwriter, and record producer. King was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987, and is considered one of the most influential blues musicians of all time, earning the nickname "The King of the Blues". King died at the age of 89 in Las Vegas, Nevada on May 14, 2015 from congestive heart failure and diabetic complications. RIP.
