I was at Abbey Wood from 62 till 67, there were some really good teachers and some really sh*te ones. We had a Jamaican RI tutor who loved whacking pupils with a big plimsole, until one of our class hit him. Mrs Zackerwich was married to her secretary. I was in Iona ,made a few mates, Georgina and peanut were special friends. I joined the merchant navy saw the world and ended up living in New Zealand for the past 50 years. We are all retirees now I hope the rest of are fit and happy.

Can anyone help Chris with his question please ?

Could anyone tell me anything about the headmaster in 1974? I have a personal diary of his from that year that I salvaged from a waste tip. It is a very poignant document. I do not even know his name, the diary being written entirely in the first person. Any information about him would be of great interest to me. I don't have any direct connection to the school.

I wonder who this "model" pupil was; was he one of the first to go to AW, or did they use a pro model ?
You'd have to be getting on a bit now, but does anyone remember that far back ?
