Robin Hood: a feast for the senses!

What a spectacular way to celebrate the arts at Dolphin School.

Our summer production of Robin Hood was a glorious feast of colour, exceptional acting, brilliant dance, beautiful singing, unexpected surprises and, above all, a whole lot of joy!

Being part of a school where the arts are not simply included but celebrated with excellence is an absolute pleasure. Productions of this scale and ambition do not happen by accident. They are made possible by an incredible, interconnected community of children, staff, parents, families, creatives and supporters, all contributing their time, talents and energy to create something extraordinary together.

And perhaps that is the greatest magic of all.
When a community comes together with a shared belief in what children can achieve, the result can be nothing short of spectacular.

There was plenty to calculate at this year’s Emanuel Maths Challenge. With the competition opened to local prep schools, 20 teams of Wandsworth’s brightest Year 5 mathematicians came together for a fiercely contested afternoon of problem solving, perseverance and quick thinking.
As each round unfolded, the margins became finer and the pressure grew. But when the final scores were totalled and the last equation had been solved, Dolphin came out on top, proudly reclaiming the title.

We could not be prouder of our pupils, not simply for winning but for the way they approached every challenge with confidence, curiosity and teamwork.

Success in mathematics is never just about finding the right answer. It is about learning to think critically, embrace challenge and enjoy the process of discovery. That is why we believe the strongest academic outcomes come from a school where children feel happy, supported and inspired every day. When a love of learning is matched with high expectations, remarkable things follow.

What an unforgettable evening at our Great 40 Anniversary Bash! 💙

Together, we looked back with gratitude on the journey from Dolphin’s earliest roots to the thriving community we are today. It was truly special to see such a beautiful cross-section of our story gathered in one place - from the first teacher and a pupil from the very first class, to founders, former and current Heads, alumni staff, parents, pupils, and our current team.

The joy in the room was undeniable. Through shared memories, meaningful conversations, interactive experiences, and hopeful visions for the future, we witnessed something powerful: a living example of what community truly means.

Rooted in our past. Celebrating the present. Looking forward with hope.

Thank you to everyone who has been part of the Dolphin story over the last four decades. The best is yet to come. ✨

There is something profoundly good for the soul about sitting in long grass on a sunny day.

No flashing screens. No artificial surfaces. No structured activity. Just space to pause, imagine, explore and simply be a child.

In a world where many playgrounds are increasingly surrounded by tarmac, rubber and concrete, we believe children need something more. They need the freedom of wide open green spaces. They need the sights, sounds and textures of nature. They need room to wonder.

Research continues to show the benefits of outdoor play for children’s wellbeing, creativity and development. But perhaps the greatest benefit is harder to measure: the joy that comes from feeling connected to the natural world.

And what makes this even more special is that these moments happen right here in the heart of London.

A perfect day. A gentle breeze. Long grass. Sunshine.

Sometimes childhood doesn’t need much more than that.

As we celebrate 40 years of Dolphin School, we’re looking back on one of our most treasured traditions: residential trips.

For generations of Dolphin pupils, these adventures have been so much more than a few days away from home. They are opportunities to grow in confidence, deepen friendships, discover new strengths, and experience the joy of learning beyond the classroom.

There is something special about exploring the outdoors together. Walking through forests, climbing hills, sharing meals, laughing around a campfire, and tackling challenges side by side creates bonds that can last a lifetime. In a safe and trusted environment, children learn resilience, teamwork, responsibility, and trust - not only in one another, but in themselves.

Residentials remind us of the wonder of God’s creation. Away from busy routines and screens, pupils have the chance to connect with nature, to be inspired by the beauty of the world around them, and to experience a sense of adventure that sparks curiosity and joy.

For 40 years, these trips have helped shape the Dolphin story - creating memories, friendships, and moments that pupils carry with them long after they leave our school.
