When you first enter a Phonics Stars™️ session, it appears to be a well-structured fun and active playgroup – with children and parents enjoying numerous group and individual activities; often with huge grins all round.
Some of the activities are quiet, measured and engaging, others are noisy, energetic and joyful.
However, all of them have one common denominator; they involve interactive and enjoyable play, which also teaching valuable life skills and preparing the children’s minds and bodies for preschool and school life.
We believe in promoting learning through play. For it really is the best way!

We all know how important it is for babies to be exposed to communication. Talking to babies helps to develop social skills and form attachment, this helps the brain to grow and understand language, facial expressions, codes of behaviour, tone and body language.
When children experience a wealth of different speaking and listening opportunities through everyday life, through play and through activities, this has a positive impact throughout a child’s life and especially during their early years and before they start school.
At Phonics Stars™️ we play a variety of different games that require the children to develop and refine these school ready for school.
We model speaking and listening skills, using a range of tone, segmenting words into sounds, breaking down last words in sentences and use sound discrimination in talk to help children hear the differences in words.
At the end of our classes, the children take turns in ‘Show and Tell’
This is a chance for the children to practice speaking and listening, for they take turns listening to each other whilst developing their confidence. Each child talks about the object they have bought to class relating to our focus sound each week.

We all know that the last year or so has been super tough on everyone, amongst all the craziness of covid, babies and birthdays I have embarked on a personal journey.. I’ve decided to run my first every half marathon! I’m not a runner but wanted to do something for me 😁
So far, it’s been an amazing journey. I’m running for a cause that is close to my heart and something I truly believe in.
Learn to Love to Read is a great little charity supporting young children and families from disadvantaged backgrounds with reading.
Your donations (big or small) will make a huge difference to the charity and families that they work with. Not only that, you will also be supporting me on this crazy journey and I can’t thank you enough.
Please do click on the link below.. there is obviously no obligation to donate.. your words of encouragement and support will also go a long way.

⭐️ Did you know that our Phonics Stars™️ classes also help to support Expressive Arts?
💃🏼✨🕺🏼Children are introduced and exposed to aspects of ‘Expressive Arts and Design’ for it is integrated in our classes.
🎵✨🎶Children are encouraged to join in with songs, movement and dancing. They experiment and explore different ways to move and respond to music.
🖍✨🖍Exploring rhythm through dance and even mark making. Especially once those mark making items have been put under a magic spell, the pens, crayons or even paint brushes can actually dance to all kinds of music! It’s a wonderfully magical way to express emotions through a range of movements.
⭐️✂️⭐️Children are offered opportunities to participate in circle games, different activities and learn how to use tools safely and effectively, especially when they join in with craft activities - this also encourages those amazing imaginations!

Phonics Stars – Phonics and Fun for Everyone!
Phonics Stars™ is an organisation that supports children to learn letters and their phonetic sounds through fun, play, movement, creativity and dance. We encourage physical development, speech and language, listening skills, visual tracking and muscle building.
Our educational and interactive club offers engaging face to face sessions; providing children with the foundations for learning, thus supporting school ‘readiness’ and much more! Phonics Stars sessions are attended by children and families within our communities, schools, nurseries, preschools and children’s centres.
The range of activities provided offers children from around the age of two and a half years a variety of playful learning opportunities, which link to the Early Years Foundation Stage. We offer ideas and support to extend or simplify activities. Our class leaders engage children and adults to learn phonics in a range of ways.
