Winston House is UNC's European hub, hosting study abroad programs & alumni events throughout the ye

A hub for UNC’s study abroad programs and research initiatives across Europe, Winston House is the perfect spot to meet with colleagues or host academic programs that take full advantage of London’s cultural riches. Winston House is available for use by University of North Carolina administrators, researchers, staff, faculty, and alumni. It is also available for use by other educational institutions in London and the United States.

Winston House hosted Tar Heels studying Criminal Justice, Olympic History, Psychology, Infectious Diseases, and British Literature this summer. From London to Oxford to Cambridge to the Lake District, here are some of our favorite memories!

March was such an eventful month in London with our Spring 2026 students! We explored more areas of the city, bonded at Winston House social events, and celebrated our students!

Here’s some of what we got up to:
- Explored Windsor Castle 🏰
- Competed in darts 🎯
- Toured Whitechapel, a multicultural and historical district in London 🧭
- Celebrated our March Birthdays 🎉
- Watched Harry Potter together at a Winston House movie night 🍿✨
- Played St. Patrick’s Day Trivia ☘️

📍 Brixton is a South London district famous for its influential music scene, multicultural cuisines, and trendy markets. On a walking tour of the area, students learned the history of Brixton and how Caribbean culture helped shape its vibrant identity. We can’t wait to explore more areas of London with the Spring 26 students!🩵

Sodlau Tar yng Nghymru = Tar Heels in Wales!🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🩵 This weekend our students traveled from London to Cardiff, and explored a historical capital city in the UK. They toured the city center and its shopping arcades, famous rugby stadium, Bute Park, Cardiff Castle, and more! What an unforgettable weekend with the Spring 2026 students! Hwyl fawr Cymru 👋

Welcome to London, Tar Heels!! 🇬🇧 Here are some exciting things our UNC Spring 2026 students did during Orientation Week!

From scavenger hunts across the city to touring to attending classes, students got the chance to get to know each other and their new home for the next few months!

And to close out the first week, students explored two essential London landmarks: St. Paul’s Cathedral and the Tate Modern!

We’re so excited for what the rest of the semester has in store for our Tar Heels in London! 🩵🇬🇧
