🌈 Exploring Our Feelings with The Colour Monster 🌈
This week, the children have been learning all about emotions through the wonderful story The Colour Monster.
The children enjoyed listening to the story, joining in with songs, and taking part in a variety of creative activities to help them understand and express their feelings. Through messy play, arts and crafts, and colour exploration, the children discovered how different colours can represent different emotions such as happiness, sadness, calmness, anger, and love.
These activities encouraged lots of discussion, helping the children to recognise their own feelings and begin to understand the feelings of others. We were so proud of how confidently the children shared their thoughts and expressed themselves through their creativity.
💛💙❤️💚🩷
A fun and meaningful week of learning, creating, and talking about our emotions! 🌈

The children have been learning about the story of Tiddler through a range of creative and sensory activities. The children enjoyed painting shells, exploring messy trays inspired by the seaside, and making their own fish shaped biscuits which they carefully decorated themselves. This story inspired imagination, creativity, fine motor skills and lots of language and conversation linked to the story 🐟🐠🐟🐡🐠

The children have had a truly beautiful week observing our ducklings at nursery. From the moment they began to hatch, there was a real sense of excitement and wonder in the room. The children were captivated watching the tiny cracks appear in the eggs and patiently waited as each duckling made its way into the world.
Throughout the week, the children showed great curiosity, asking thoughtful questions and eagerly checking on the ducklings each day. They have been gentle and caring, learning how to handle them safely and understanding the importance of being quiet and calm around them.
This experience has supported the children’s understanding of growth and change, while also encouraging empathy and responsibility. It has been a lovely opportunity for shared learning, conversation, and awe — a week full of special moments that the children will remember 🦆🐥🦆🐥

The children enjoyed learning about St George’s Day through a creative and hands-on activity. They took part in making biscuits, showing growing independence as they mixed ingredients, shaped the dough, and carefully handled tools with support.
Once baked, the children decorated their biscuits using the colours of the St George’s flag. They showed great focus and creativity as they added red icing to create the cross, developing their fine motor skills and hand–eye coordination.
During the activity, the children engaged in conversations about the meaning of the flag and the celebration, demonstrating curiosity and an emerging understanding of cultural traditions. They were proud of their creations and eager to share them with others, building confidence and a sense of achievement.

The children had a wonderful time getting creative in the kitchen making Easter cornflake chocolate nest cakes! 🐣🍫
They carefully mixed the melted chocolate with cornflakes, scooped their nests, and added mini eggs on top—developing their fine motor skills and following simple instructions along the way.
A fun, hands-on activity filled with excitement (and a little bit of mess!)—and of course, a tasty treat to enjoy at the end! 🌼
