Over the past few weeks, our preschool children have been fascinated watching our caterpillars grow bigger every day before forming their chrysalises. We’ve talked about each stage of the butterfly life cycle, read stories, explored creative activities, and made predictions about what will happen next.

Now comes the most exciting part… we’re eagerly waiting for our beautiful butterflies to emerge! ✨

There’s nothing quite like seeing the children’s excitement as they witness one of nature’s most amazing transformations. It’s a wonderful opportunity to learn about growth, change, patience and caring for living things.

🌈 Exploring Our Feelings with The Colour Monster 🌈

This week, the children have been learning all about emotions through the wonderful story The Colour Monster.

The children enjoyed listening to the story, joining in with songs, and taking part in a variety of creative activities to help them understand and express their feelings. Through messy play, arts and crafts, and colour exploration, the children discovered how different colours can represent different emotions such as happiness, sadness, calmness, anger, and love.

These activities encouraged lots of discussion, helping the children to recognise their own feelings and begin to understand the feelings of others. We were so proud of how confidently the children shared their thoughts and expressed themselves through their creativity.
