Should you use "is" or "are" in a sentence?

The rule is very simple. If the object is singular (only one), use "is". If the object is plural (more than one) use are. Here are some examples:

The car IS going very fast. (one car + IS)
The carS ARE going very fast. (more than one car = ARE)

That mAN IS tall (one man = IS)
Those mEN ARE strong (more than one man = ARE)

This drink IS delicious (one drink = IS)
These drinks ARE delicious (more than one drink = ARE)
