This week, our Reception, Year 1 and Shireen classes enjoyed an Earth Whisperer workshop at one of our local gardens.
As part of the Sense-ational Nature session, the children explored the garden using all of their senses. They observed the colours of the flowers and plants, felt the different textures of trees and natural materials, listened carefully to the sounds around them, and discovered the scents of the season.
The children also collected natural treasures and used them to create imaginative faces and artwork inspired by the world around them.

With the warmer weather this term, our Reception children have been enjoying spending even more time in their outdoor learning environment.
The new Literacy Shed has been a wonderful addition to the Reception outdoor area, providing children with opportunities to enjoy books, practise their writing and phonics, and engage in storytelling through puppet play.
Outdoor learning is an important part of our Early Years curriculum throughout the year, giving children opportunities to explore, create, collaborate and apply their learning in different ways. Our Reception children regularly use their outdoor area to extend and complement their classroom learning, whatever the season.
Our Nursery children also benefit from their own dedicated outdoor space, carefully designed to support learning, play and discovery as they begin their school journey.
It is always a pleasure to see the children making the most of these spaces, developing their confidence, creativity and love of learning through both child-led and adult-led activities.

Year 5 had a fantastic day exploring the historic Tower of London today.
The children took part in a lively and interactive workshop, stepping back in time to discover famous stories, legends and key events from British history. Led by a costumed historical character, children explored different areas of the Tower through drama, questioning and debate, following in the footsteps of monarchs, prisoners, ravens and even a jewel thief.
The sunny weather made the day even more memorable.
