Thomas's College

Our Year 10s completed their Silver Duke of Edinburgh expedition along the River Spey, paddling from the heart of the Cairngorms to the North Sea in a true test of resilience.

Battling thunderstorms, midges and wet sleeping bags, our pupils equipped themselves with self-knowledge and inner strength. The journey challenged them to get stuck in, to trust themselves and each other and to discover the difference they can make.

By showing outstanding perseverance and leadership, these students demonstrated the exact confidence, character and adaptability needed to succeed in the world.

Reflecting on this milestone at the end of the summer term, our pioneering first year has been a masterclass in joyful excellence. Our students have demonstrated outstanding academic engagement alongside the confidence, character and adaptability to succeed in the world.

Celebrating Pride Week at Thomas’s College has been a wonderful reflection of our commitment to a values led education.

Through an inspiring whole school assembly with guest author Sarah Hagger-Holt, interactive allyship workshops, creative chalk art, a charity bake sale and our colorful rainbow clothes day, our students actively explored what it means to be compassionate contributors to society.

By championing kindness and inclusivity, we ensure that every member of the Thomas’s community feels known, supported and valued for exactly who they are, helping them build the confidence and character to thrive in the wider world.
