David's fantastic lighthouse image from our Yorkshire photography holiday really stood out to us this week 🌊

The dramatic skies, soft light and thoughtful composition work beautifully together to create a real sense of atmosphere. The lighthouse stands proudly at the centre of the frame while the silhouetted grasses in the foreground add depth, texture and naturally lead your eye towards the subject. The clouds add real impact, making the lighthouse feel even more commanding against the sky ⭐

Wednesday photography tip... slow down!📸🐌

It's so easy to arrive at a location, take lots of photos and move on. Instead, take a moment to really look at the scene in front of you 🔎

Think about your composition. Check the edges of the frame. Consider where the light is coming from. Even if your subject is moving, you can often decide on your composition and camera settings before the moment unfolds⚡

Taking a little extra time can turn a quick snapshot into a thoughtful photograph you'll be proud of.

Remember... it's not about taking more photos. It's about taking even more amazing ones! 📷

Heather captured this fantastic black and white image on our Yorkshire photography holiday earlier this summer. B&W works beautifully here, enhancing the grit and character of the scene while making the steam coming from the train really stand out. A super image that perfectly captures the timeless feel of the railway!🚂

A visit to the North Yorkshire Moors Railway is always a highlight of our trips, offering a chance to learn more about these magnificent steam trains while capturing some truly atmospheric photographs.

Fun fact: Gold Hill is one of England's most famous streets and became instantly recognisable after featuring in the classic 1973 Hovis bread advert 🇬🇧
