Term time classes are back at Sparks Film School.
From filmmaking and animation to advanced Studio 5 productions, our young creatives are back behind the cameras, building stories, learning professional techniques, and creating original films with industry-active tutors.

Last term, our young filmmakers in Richmond Stduio 5 created Westside Plaza - a moody film noir inspired by classics like The Godfather. Using chiaroscuro lighting, period costumes, and vintage-inspired dialogue, the students brought their mob world to life with incredible ambition and style.
The finished film is now available to watch on our YouTube channel.
This term, Studio 5 are taking inspiration from the work of Andrea Arnold as they develop a brand new British social realist production… stay tuned.

At Sparks Film School, young people aged 5–18 get hands-on with real filmmaking and animation equipment, work as part of a creative team, and make original films they can be proud of.
From filmmaking and claymation to storytelling, acting, directing and editing, our summer camps are designed to build confidence, creativity, and lasting friendships along the way.

This week our Sparks Animation students have been bringing original characters to life ✨🎞️
From sketching ideas and designing personalities to building creative clay and stop-motion characters, our young animators have been exploring what makes a memorable screen character. The imagination and detail going into these creations has been incredible!
Animation is a brilliant way for young people to develop storytelling, creativity, patience, and problem-solving skills, all while turning screen time into something meaningful.

This week our Studio 5 filmmakers took another step towards professional film production 🎬
Across Richmond & Ealing, students got hands-on with wireless follow focus systems and wireless monitors, learning how professional crews pull focus and create cinematic camera movement on set. They also worked on self-tape auditions, developing both their on-camera performance skills and understanding of the casting process.
Studio 5 is designed for ambitious young filmmakers aged 14+, combining professional equipment, industry techniques, and creative development in a pre-university style environment.
