On International Day of the Boy Child, we had the privilege of engaging with pupils at Kabulonga Boys Secondary School alongside the British High Commission Lusaka.
As Chevening Alumni, we shared our journeys; from our undergraduate studies to eventually becoming Chevening Scholars. We encouraged the pupils to work hard, remain disciplined, and believe in the power of education, because the foundation they build today can open doors to opportunities like Chevening tomorrow.
Beyond sharing our experiences, it was equally inspiring to listen to the boys speak about their ambitions, dreams, and the challenges they face. Conversations like these matter. They remind young people that with resilience, consistency, and self-belief, their aspirations are valid and achievable.
Investing in young people and creating spaces where they feel seen, heard, and encouraged is essential in building stronger communities and future leaders.

The Chevening Alumni Association of Zambia was delighted to host and warmly welcome our fellow Chevening Scholar, Elina Castillo from the Dominican Republic (2016/2017 Cohort), during her first visit to Zambia.
Her visit provided a wonderful opportunity to strengthen the global Chevening network, share experiences, and showcase the warmth and hospitality that Zambia is known for. During her stay, she had the opportunity to interact with alumni members and experience some of Zambiaβs notable institutions and culture, including a visit to the National Assembly of Zambia.
We are proud to continue building meaningful international connections through the Chevening community and thank all alumni members who made her visit memorable.

A message of Gratitude and Farewell
As I step down from my role as President of the Chevening Alumni Association of Zambia following our AGM yesterday, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to each and every one of you for the support, trust, and collaboration you extended to me throughout my tenure.
Serving in this position has been both an honour and a deeply rewarding experience. Together with my team, we navigated challenges, celebrated milestones, and worked collectively to strengthen our vibrant alumni community. None of what we achieved would have been possible without your commitment and active participation.
I warmly congratulate our newly elected President, Danny Mwala Mwinanu, on his well-deserved election. I have every confidence in his leadership and vision for the Association. I kindly encourage all members to extend to him the same unwavering support, cooperation, and goodwill that you so generously accorded me.
Though I may no longer serve in this capacity, I remain a committed member of this Association and look forward to contributing in any way I can.
To my Executive members, thank you all for your tireless efforts that saw us sail through till the finishing line.
Thank you once again for the privilege to serve.
With Gratitude,
Robson Maamba Jr
