๐ŸญโœจLast week, our little ones enjoyed a wonderful visit to the dentist, where they learned all about keeping their teeth healthy and strong ๐Ÿฆทโœจ

We also introduced the children to the magical story of Ratoncito Pรฉrez, the beloved little mouse from Madrid who collects childrenโ€™s teeth and leaves a special surprise behind ๐Ÿญ๐Ÿ’ซ We read the beautiful story of this famous Madrileรฑo ratรณn, and the children were completely captivated!

To make the experience even more magical, Ratoncito Pรฉrez even installed himself in our officeโ€ฆ with his very own tiny door! ๐Ÿšช๐Ÿญโœจ It was wonderful to see the childrenโ€™s imagination come to life as they wondered when he might visit and what adventures he has at night ๐ŸŒ™โญ

A lovely week of learning, storytelling, and a little bit of magic ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿฆท

๐ŸŒฟ A Moment of Calm and Movement ๐ŸŒฟIn Ositos ๐Ÿป, our weekly yoga sessions bring calm, movement and joy together in a truly magical way.

With soft lighting, sensory scarves, light boxes, mirrors and calming music, children are invited to stretch, breathe and explore at their own pace.

These moments support wellbeing, focus, coordination and emotional regulation โ€” all through gentle, playful mindfulness. A peaceful pause in our busy week ๐Ÿ’›

๐ŸŒฑ๐ŸŒท Celebrating Spring! ๐ŸŒฑ๐ŸŒทOur Ardillas ๐Ÿฟhave been enjoying our newly refreshed mud kitchen, exploring the wonders of nature through hands-on play. Using natural resources gathered from the garden, such as leaves, flowers, soil, and twigs, the children have been busy mixing, creating, and discovering. ๐Ÿ’š

Outdoor play helps children develop a meaningful connection with nature, encouraging curiosity about the world around them while supporting their creativity, communication, and sensory development. As they explore different textures, scents, and materials, they learn to appreciate seasonal changes and the beauty of the natural environment.๐Ÿ’š

It has been wonderful to watch our little explorers celebrate spring by engaging with nature, using their imaginations, and learning through play in our nursery garden. ๐Ÿ’š

๐Ÿ’š Nurturing curiosity, creativity, and a lifelong love of nature.

๐Ÿ Buzzing into Learning in Linces ๐ŸฆŠ! ๐ŸOur preschoolers have been exploring the fascinating life cycle of bees! From egg to larva, pupa, and finally a busy adult bee, the children have been learning about the incredible journey these tiny creatures take and the important role they play in our ecosystem. ๐ŸŒผ

At Anglo Spanish Nursery, we believe learning goes beyond simply discovering facts. We expand children's understanding through hands-on experiences, discussions, creative activities, storytelling, and opportunities to make real-life connections with the world around them. ๐Ÿ๐ŸŒปโœจ

Through our exploration of bees, the children have been developing:
๐ŸŒฑ Knowledge of the natural world
๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ Language and communication skills
๐Ÿ” Curiosity and scientific thinking
๐ŸŽจ Creativity through art and sensory activities
โค๏ธ Empathy and respect for living things

As Sir David Attenborough reminds us:
"No one will protect what they don't care about; and no one will care about what they have never experienced." This is why creating meaningful connections with nature from an early age is so important.๐Ÿ’›

As part of our (slightly belated!) share from our World Bee Day celebrations ๐Ÿ๐ŸŒผ, the children also enjoyed learning about bees and their importance in our world ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ’›

Through hands-on exploration, they are developing their curiosity, coordination, and early sensory skills while having lots of fun discovering new textures and experiences ๐Ÿ‘๐ŸŽจ๐ŸŒฟ

A wonderful mix of sensory play and themed learning in our nursery environment ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ๐ŸŒฟ

๐Ÿงบ๐Ÿซ–โœจ Practical Life in Montessori โœจ๐Ÿชด๐ŸงผAt Anglo, Practical Life activities are a very important part of our Montessori environment. Through everyday tasks such as pouring, spooning, polishing, threading, washing, and caring for their surroundings, children develop independence, concentration, coordination, confidence, and a sense of responsibility. ๐ŸŒฑ

These hands-on experiences may look simple, but they are building essential life skills and helping children feel capable and empowered in their daily routines. ๐Ÿ’›

We are currently refreshing our Montessori area with new Practical Life resources, and the children have been so excited to explore and engage with the new activities! Their curiosity, focus, and joy while learning have been wonderful to see. โœจ

At Anglo Spanish Nursery, we believe children learn best through meaningful experiences, independence, and real-life opportunities to discover the world around them. ๐ŸŒ

๐ŸซโœจThis week our Ardillas ๐Ÿฟ enjoyed a wonderful hands-on cooking experience as they created their own blueberry nests! ๐Ÿซโœจ

The children carefully explored scooping, mixing, shaping, and assembling ingredients independently, supporting their fine motor skills, concentration, coordination, and confidence. Activities like these provide meaningful Montessori-inspired learning opportunities, encouraging independence, sensory exploration, practical life skills, and decision-making through real-life experiences. ๐Ÿฅฃ๐Ÿ’›

The children showed great focus and pride in their creations while also developing communication, turn-taking, and collaborative skills throughout the activity. A lovely learning experience enjoyed by all! ๐ŸŒฟ

๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡ธโœจ ยกFeliz San Isidro! โœจ๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡ธ We celebrated the wonderful festival of San Isidro, the patron saint of Madrid! ๐ŸŒธ๐ŸŽ‰

The children enjoyed learning about Madridโ€™s traditions through music, dancing, dressing up, and cultural activities. โค๏ธ

Our little chulapos and chulapas explored the traditional clothing of the festival:
๐ŸŒบ The handkerchief worn folded into a peak on the head with beautiful red and white carnations โ€” one of Madridโ€™s most traditional flowers.
๐Ÿ‘— Traditional chulapa dresses with ruffles, lantern sleeves, and classic polka dot patterns.
๐Ÿงฃ Colourful Manila shawls embroidered with floral designs.
๐Ÿ‘” White shirts, waistcoats, dark trousers, and the famous parpusa cap worn by the chulapos.

We also listened and danced to traditional Madrid music such as the famous chotis, enjoying songs like Madrid, Madrid, Madrid and Pichi, which are so special during the San Isidro celebrations. ๐ŸŽถ๐Ÿ’ƒ The children loved moving to the rhythm, and joining in with the joyful atmosphere of the fiesta! ๐Ÿช‡โœจ

Celebrating cultural traditions helps children learn about the world around them while embracing diversity, language, music, and community. ๐ŸŒโค๏ธ

ยกViva Madrid y viva San Isidro! ๐ŸŒน๐ŸŽ‰

๐Ÿš“๐Ÿ‘ฎโ€โ™‚๏ธ Recently we had a very special visit from the police at nursery!๐Ÿš“๐Ÿ‘ฎโ€โ™‚๏ธ
Our Linces ๐ŸฆŠ learned all about the important role of police officers in keeping our community safe.

They explored traditional British police headwear, including the iconic custodian helmet worn by male officers on foot patrol and the bowler hat worn by female officers. We also talked about how uniforms have changed over time, with many officers now wearing the practical flat cap used by both men and women.

The children were fascinated to discover how these uniforms help officers be recognised and support their important work in the community. The highlight of the visit was getting hands-on experienceโ€”our Linces even had the chance to try on real police vests, and our team joined in too! ๐Ÿ˜Š

A brilliant learning experience about safety, respect, and the people who help us every day. ๐Ÿ’™
