It may be half-term, but we have got the summer blues! We're reminiscing about two unforgettable Spanish adventures! ✈️

This year, our students enjoyed incredible educational visits to Madrid and Barcelona, combining language learning with unforgettable cultural experiences.

From practising Spanish with native speakers and exploring historic landmarks, to visiting the Bernabéu, Camp Nou, Parc Güell, Retiro Park and the breathtaking Sagrada Família, our students embraced every opportunity to learn beyond the classroom.

These trips not only developed their confidence in Spanish but also broadened their horizons, encouraged independence and created memories that will last a lifetime.

A huge thank you to our Modern Foreign Languages staff for making these fantastic experiences possible. We can't wait for the next adventure!

Need school uniform for the new school year?

Did you know the John Fisher Association runs a pre-loved School Uniform Shop?

We have a range of good quality second-hand school uniform, including sportswear helping families save money while giving perfectly good uniform a second life!

We're also looking for donations!

If your children have outgrown their uniform, we'd love to give it a new home. We're currently accepting donations of:

* School uniform
* PE kit and sportswear
* Other John Fisher branded uniform items

Please make sure all donated items are clean and freshly washed before dropping them off.

By donating your preloved uniform, you're helping support other families in our school community while reducing waste - it's a win for everyone!

Our Half-Term Virtue: Service 🙌

At The John Fisher School, we are focusing on the virtue of Service this half-term.

Service is about developing young men of character who lead with humility, responsibility and kindness. We encourage our pupils to put others first, make a positive contribution to their community, and understand that true leadership is demonstrated through serving others.

Through acts of service (both big and small), we inspire our students to live out our values every day, making a difference both within our school and beyond.

Creativity is thriving at The John Fisher School!
During his work experience, Oli has been showcasing his incredible artistic talent, creating impressive freehand illustrations using Procreate, with some taking as little as 2–3 minutes to complete!

With dreams of becoming a professional comic artist and illustrator, he's inspired by the late Avicii, whose music fuels the stories and characters he creates. His ambition, passion and dedication are clear to see, and we can't wait to watch his creative journey unfold.

Well done, Oli! We're proud to celebrate your talent and wish you every success for the future. 👏✨

A huge thank you to everyone who attended and supported our Colour Run. It was fantastic to see so many students, families and staff coming together to make the event such a success.

There was plenty of colour, laughter and community spirit throughout the day, with one of the highlights being the chance to see Miss Lovelock and Mr Bennett get well and truly gunged! 💦😄

Thank you to everyone who took part, volunteered and helped organise the event. Your enthusiasm and support made it a memorable occasion for all involved.

Our Year 8 students recently embarked on a memorable two-day journey through the battlefields of Belgium and France, exploring key First World War sites including the Yorkshire Trenches, Tyne Cot Cemetery, the Menin Gate, Vimy Ridge, Lochnagar Crater and the Thiepval Memorial.

The trip provided a powerful opportunity to bring classroom learning to life, helping students gain a deeper understanding of the events of the First World War and reflect on the sacrifices made by soldiers from many nations.

A highlight for many was attending the moving Last Post Ceremony at the Menin Gate, a truly unforgettable experience.

Thank you to Mr Jackson, Mr Dawkins, Mr Barot and Mr Wilkinson for organising and leading such a valuable and memorable trip.
