Yesterday was a good day on the ward.

Residents at Chelsham House ward at South London and Maudsley got a full makeover courtesy of our very own Gifty, and even the men got involved, enjoying a proper face moisturise.

Everyone left feeling bright, cared for and happy.

A huge thank you to In Kind Direct for donating the products that made it all possible. YSL, Elemis, beauty sponges, brushes and more, the residents deserved every bit of it.

A meal for six, straight from the food bank.

This plate is proof: a food bank shop can make a fresh, tasty, home-cooked meal. Seasoned rice, buttery potatoes with beans, and a bright cabbage, carrot and pepper stir fry, all from ingredients donated in kind.

Huge thanks to Felix and In Kind Direct for making this healthy eating trial possible. It's shown us what's achievable, and it's just the start.

We're expanding this work in September, with the aim of helping more of our community eat well on a food bank budget.

Wow what an amazing evening, with over 11 wonderful organisations doing fabulous work for the community. Well done to all the organisations that presented today!

We want to say thank you to the community members that voted for Knowledge 4 Practice in support of our weight management and lifestyle initiative. You believed in us and we will deliver.

Together we will help our residents to be conscious of their health and lifestyle. Thank you to Croydon Neighbourhood Grant for this opportunity.

It was a very competitive vote, yet we won.

Sun's out at Costa Del Croydon!
Our summer camp kids had the best time building sandcastles and soaking up some seaside fun, right here in the heart of Croydon.

Forty children, forty pens, forty stories

Our HAF (Holiday Activities and Food) programme wrapped up with the kids reflecting on everything they learned and made this week. From cooking sessions and dance to teamwork and new friendships, the pride on those pages says it all.

Huge thanks to our brilliant HAF team for making it a summer to remember, and to every child and parent who joined us.
This is what community looks like.

"We took a bus to Parliament. We looked at the sections of the House of Lords and the House of Commons."
"At Knowledge 4 Practice, I saw my favourite artist, I made new friends than I ever had before, at London Bridge I saw Big Ben."
"At camp cooking today, we made chocolate chip cookies. Today we learnt to cook, decide, and learnt different skills as well as how to chop food."

What an incredible day at the Houses of Parliament!

Our Summer Camp children stepped inside Westminster Hall, stood where Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and previous monarchs lay in state, and walked through the House of Lords and House of Commons. They even caught sight of Big Ben and the London Eye along the way.

A huge thank you to MP Natasha Irons for making this opportunity possible, and to the HAF team and Luke for their support throughout. 8 hours, 40 children and their parents, and memories that will stay with them for a long time. It was a long day but every minute was worth it!

Thank you for helping us give our young people an experience they will cherish.

Summer Camp is in full swing at Knowledge 4 Practice, and we are keeping our cool any way we can find it!

This week the children took hide and seek into the woods, weaving between the trees and building dens to beat the heatwave.

Back at base, our tie and dye session turned plain t-shirts into one-of-a-kind creations, and it wouldn't have been possible without support from In Kind Direct Affordable, colourful, and made with love.

And when the sun really turned up the heat, our volunteers and staff brought out the water games for a competition that had everyone laughing (and dripping!) from start to finish.

Huge thanks to our volunteers, staff and supporters for making this summer one to remember for our young people.
