📣 Calling all Swifties and aspiring lawyers 📣
As many of you know, I am a lawyer as well as a tutor. To bring together my two jobs, I am running an interactive live webinar for anyone aged 14+ (year 10 upwards) covering how the law has affected Taylor Swift’s career and contributed to her phenomenal success.
📅 2pm on Saturday 24th February
Participants can expect:
· an insight into a career in law ⚖️
· an opportunity to scrutinise Taylor Swift’s career from a new perspective 🎤
· to be inspired to advocate for themselves 💪
There will be plenty of opportunities to interact, contribute to the session and ask questions including about how to get into a career in law. I know how difficult it is to obtain work experience in law and the media & entertainment industry so I’ve written the webinar that I would have loved to attend as a young aspiring lawyer ✨

In August, I am running a group course for children aged 9-11 called Little Lawyers to help prepare for 11+ exams, 11+ interviews and secondary school whilst also building confidence and key life skills. I’m so excited to be combining my two careers together to offer a truly unique course! 😊

As the 11+ exams and interviews are coming to an end, if you’d like a way to keep your child focused and interested in learning over the coming months before the move on up to secondary school, please take a look at my Little Lawyers course 🤩
Little Lawyers is a course of six sessions to empower children with the skills to advocate for themselves, know their rights and responsibilities and stand up for themselves and what they believe in 💪. The course is designed to build confidence and improve the skills involved in letter writing ✍️ , speaking, negotiating, debating 🗣 and reasoned thinking 🧠
For children in year 6, Little Lawyers puts many of the skills learnt in preparing for the 11+ to practical use in real life scenarios, it develops their general knowledge outside of the school curriculum by teaching them how laws are made and how the justice system works ⚖️ and it stretches children to think outside the box 📦 by considering moral and ethical questions around the criminal justice system. It’s a unique and fun way to prepare your child for the more challenging work of secondary school!
For more information please go to https://www.millstutoring.co.uk/little-lawyers and if you’re interesting in signing your child up for the next course, please fill in the contact form on my website or email me on [email protected]

For any new followers, I’m Fiona and I work both as a lawyer👩⚖️ and as an 11+ tutor 👩🏫. I started tutoring over ten years ago when I was at law school and loved it so much that I continued tutoring whilst training as a solicitor at a law firm in the City and then when I qualified as a solicitor in 2015. I worked for law firms in London 🇬🇧, Singapore 🇸🇬 and Sydney 🇦🇺 before moving to work in-house for a media company in London almost two years ago.
I provide online one-to-one Maths, English, Reasoning, general entrance exam and interview tuition for children aged 8 to 11 and I also run group sessions to help children aged 9 to 11 learn life skills related to law through my Little Lawyers course. This covers how to write letters of complaint ✍️, how to advocate for yourself and others in real life scenarios 🗣, negotiating, debating and developing thinking around the ethics of the criminal justice system and moral dilemmas 🧠
Education is about so much more than the core curriculum. Whether a child gains entry into their chosen school and ultimately becomes a happy and successful adult is often more about whether they have the soft skills to overcome the challenges and obstacles of modern life rather than about their exam results.
My aim is to inspire children so that they have the ambition, determination, confidence, courage, resilience, belief and life skills to think big, work hard, face and conquer challenges and achieve their dreams, whatever those may be 💫

Honesty and partnership are the 🔑
When I start with a new student, I always say to the child that I welcome all feedback at any time, positive or negative. If my student finds an activity boring or pointless, I want to know about it! No matter what the parent wants, if the child is not on board or not engaged, tutoring is a waste of time. The best results are achieved by open communication and collaboration between the student, parent and tutor 💫
If you need any 11 plus support or guidance, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with me ✍️

The best email to wake up to on a Saturday morning! This year has been tough for all children and I’m incredibly proud of the resilience and tenacity my students have shown by coping so well with last minute changes to the 11+ assessments and adapting to online learning.

As the 11+ exams come to an end for the September 2021 year 7 intake, I've been overwhelmed by all the lovely testimonials, cards and gifts I've received over the past couple of weeks from the parents and students leaving me. I look forward to building relationships with my next intake of students and families!

With another lockdown upon us, I have updated the advice and resources on my website to help parents of 8-11 year-olds navigate the difficulties of homeschooling. Good luck to all of you working from home and trying your hand at being a teacher for the second time! It's hard and stressful but I've set out links to a wide variety of resources that will hopefully make things easier.

With schools closed yet again for most children, many parents are having to educate their children from home for the second time. Hopefully your child's school has provided some guidance for you and is more set up for home learning than over the first lockdown. However, I know it's daunting, di...
