Hurd
Hurd is your opportunity to demand more and do more about climate action at work to #BeHurd
The climate crisis is not YOUR problem to solve!! Stop letting yourself be guilt-tripped into dwelling on your carbon footprint — there are people out there responsible for far more emissions than you.
And according to Mike Berners-Lee the best way to make a difference is to learn how to influence those people who are going to be able to make a difference.
R.I.P the office plant. Gone and definitely forgotten — even in your own lifetime when we all forgot to water you 🥲🌱
Reusable cups, remembering to turn the lights off (unless someone’s in the room, obvs), and a second recycling bin for the stuff that feels like it should be recyclable but for some reason isn’t…
Feels good to do our bit 👍👍👍👍👍

China’s emissions get more airtime than necessary in a lot of climate conversations, so we’re here to clear things up...
Many people — whether they’re climate skeptics, all-out deniers, or even just out-of-hope planetary advocates — are guilty of bringing this question to the table during climate conversations. They ask it as a way to detract from their own government’s carbon mitigation and Net Zero efforts. Why would the UK invest so much money in renewables if China’s emissions are going to continue contributing to global warming?
Why bother trying anything at all?
The facts of the matter are:
a) “Whataboutism” is in no way a helpful way to approach climate; it’s a means of deflection and distraction that does nothing to serve the progress we should be focusing on.
b) China’s emissions aren’t as much of a deal-breaker as we think they are. In fact, when it comes to renewables, they’re actually leading the charge…

Ever wondered why people in the sustainability space are always referencing 1.5? 1.5 this, 1.5 that.
Well, we have the answers to all the questions you’ve been quietly thinking but have been too afraid to ask 🤫

If you’re seeing this, then you probably are. And that probably means that you look at the state of the world — of our climate — and feel distressed for those in communities most affected (especially those in the global south). Your anxiety, guilt, and existential dread won’t help those communities, but the compassion and empathy your anxiety stems from can.
In our lesson “Windows of solidarity” we explore how you can transform your eco-anxiety into something productive and meaningful.
How have you been dealing with your climate anxiety? Let us know in the comments 🌱😥❤️🩹

The Declaration on Information Integrity on Climate Change is perhaps one of the most significant agreements to come out of Belém during COP30.
Besides having a rather long-winded name, what actually is it? And what does it mean? And why do we care?
At COP30, governments recognised something the climate community has felt for years: the information ecosystem is now a structural barrier to climate action.
The new Declaration on Information Integrity on Climate Change places accurate, trusted and accessible information at the centre of climate implementation for the first time. Countries have committed to strengthening media resilience, protecting scientists and communicators, improving data transparency, and supporting public access to evidence-based information.
This moment matters. Climate action relies on people understanding what is happening, why it matters and what they can do. Without that foundation, progress stalls.
Hurd is designed for exactly this challenge.
We give employees trusted climate knowledge, build confidence to navigate misinformation and provide organisations with a practical, scalable tool aligned with emerging expectations on information integrity.
Climate action needs informed people.
Hurd helps deliver that inside every workplace.

Not sure what COP30 is, means, stands for etc — and too afraid to ask?
There are acronyms and jargon aplenty within the sustainability space and we’re here to clear a couple of things up.
What, exactly, is COP? Why 30? Isn’t it 2025? What does the beloved capital of France have to do with it? Who’s there? Why should we care? Etc etc
We want to bring climate action closer to home. So if you’re not in Belém right now (and you’re unclear on why everyone else has jetted off to Brazil), then we’ve got you covered.

IT’S NOT OVER ‘TIL IT’S OVER
The biggest sustainability myth of all? It doesn’t come from the regulators, or the deniers. It comes from us.
The most dangerous piece of misinformation we have to contend with is the idea that it’s “too late to make a difference” — the belief that we’re already “doomed”.
Of course, it makes sense why we’d feel this way; the news features one natural disaster after another after another after another. Everyday we are made to feel hopeless by the things we see scrolling, passively absorbing one atrocity after another after another etc etc (you get the idea).
To succumb to the idea that it’s too late is akin to giving up. And giving up is just as dangerous as denial.
If you’re looking for proof that it’s not too late, or you need the strength to keep hoping, then Hurd is the place for you.
We’re free to all those who want to make a difference, who haven’t given up.
And we’re waiting.
