Qalqalah (The Echoing Sound)
​Qalqalah refers to a distinctive echoing or bouncing sound produced when pronouncing specific letters carrying a Sukoon (ْ). It prevents the letter's sound from being muffled or lost.
​The 5 Qalqalah letters are collected in the phrase قُطْبُ جَدٍّ (Qāf, Ṭā’, Bā’, Jīm, Dāl).
