As you may know, it has been announced that the State Funeral for the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II will now take place on Monday 19 September.

As a mark of respect, all of our South Greenwich Children's centres will be closed on that day.
We will reopen on Tuesday 20th September 2022.

Meet Meryl our nursery cook at Vista Field.
She loves food, not only to eat but cook. Lemon drizzle is her fav and everyone else loves it too!
She has been working at Vista Field nursery since the day it opened in September 2015.
In her spare time she enjoys entertaining family and friends. She is always up for a laugh and a challenge.
Her hobbies are going to the theatre, gardening and looking glam! ❤️

Our summer holiday activities kick off next week with a walk in the park.

Join the Children’s Centre team for a walk in Oxleas Woods looking at the lovely nature.

Have fun with some games and story telling.

Bring a picnic with you or you can purchase food and drinks in “The Secret Café” and then enjoy a Teddy Bears’ Picnic together.
(The secret café takes cash or card, however card is a minimum of £5 spend.)

Remember to wear appropriate clothing for the weather. and bring drinking water as well as your Teddy Bear.

Meeting point is The Secret Café in Oxleas Woods at 10am

With the hot weather we're experiencing, it's important to keep your baby cool and out of direct sun. But remember that buggies and prams should never be covered with blankets, cloths or any cover that prevents the air from circulating. This can lead to overheating and increases the chance of SIDS.

Instead:
☀️ Stay in the shade as much as possible
☀️ Use a clip-on parasol or sunshade to protect your baby from the sun, but make sure that air can circulate and you are still able to see your baby
☀️ Monitor their temperature to avoid overheating. You can do this by feeling their chest or back of their neck, if their skin feels clammy, this is a sign they are getting too hot.
