At the Raspberry Pi Foundation Computing Education Research Centre in Cambridge today! It is so exciting to see another great step for Computer Science while at the same time getting the chance to share ideas amongst great people. The Centre focuses on educating young people in Computer Science, especially those who are underrepresented within the Computing industry. EducationAI stands by this mission: we use AI technology to support Computing teachers, so that more and more children will be provided with the opportunity to learn Computer Science. This is such an exciting time for Computing, and we hope to continue this journey together.

Living in an era with fast changing technology, we know parents and teachers are constantly on the look out on the effect that technology has on their children and students. In a recent BBC article, doctors have begun prescribing a video game rather than drugs to help children with ADHD who struggle with behavioural issues and abilities at focusing. The game, EndeavorRx , is very similar to any other game as users control a little alien who races around in a spaceship collecting things. However this particular game, developed alongside neuroscientists, focuses on multitasking and ignoring distractions whilst using computer algorithms that measure the child’s performance, continually customising the experience to better fit each child’s ability.

Both the combination of computing algorithms and attentive tracking to a child progress have been found incredibly effective in this case of children’s abilities at home. Education AI's technology is bringing this combination from home to the classroom with a curriculum that utilises customisable paths and adaptive learning, helping teachers to better fit the individual needs of students. At such an important time for computing and education, lets keep helping our kids learn with no limitations!

The world is changing and technology is doing more than we could have ever imagined, but who would have thought that this would effect the world of art? Well, AI has now moved from smart homes, cars and cyber security to challenging traditional forms of art through what is known as ‘AI generated art’.

One of the top AI systems for creating this art is DALL·E 2, who create original pieces through descriptions in natural language using Hierarchical Text-Conditional Image Generation. The image above is AI generated through the phrase “Teddy bears shopping for groceries in the style of ukiyo-e”.
