Children must be taught how to think, not what to think.

Mistakes are an important part of learning!
They offer us the opportunity of learning something new that will help us to make deeper progress.

Children are all different and need different ways of learning!

Yes, the summer break is almost over!! It is back to school time!
Does your child need some revision? Is he/she confident with his timetables? Does he/she need to recap those challenging spelling rules?
If so, get in touch!

So so true..
Problem solving helps children not only to identify problems and find solutions, but builds their confidence too!

Wherever we go, whatever we do and whoever we meet can offer us an opportunity to learn something new and be inspired!

GRAMMAR....key to effective communication.
Some people might not consider grammar important, but I love it and believe it really improves communication and fluency. It is also a good foundation to learning a new language.

One of my favourite sentences. Helping children to think is at the centre of my teaching approach.
Imaging a world without "thinkers"!!!!

Reading can be easy and fun!
However, some children do really struggle to find the motivation to read. Questioning can help them to actively participate and become more interested in the story they are reading. I also use some 'acting' skills. They love it!

This was hilarious (Yes it really happened!)
My immediate thought: I wonder if opticians are prepared to do spelling tests in addition to eye tests....

Once a child asked me:
"Miss, why do you always ask a lot of questions?"
Me: "Well, why do you think I do?"
After a few seconds he replied:
"You want us to think! There is a lot of thinking here!"

QUESTIONING activities are key elements of the learning process. They help children to develop their comprehension and writing skills.

Children often ask me this question...Generally, I don't like to give them an immediate answer, but I prefer to listen to their voices and discover what THEY think. Amazingly, I find they already know the answers...and want to learn more.

Finally, after months of work I am happy to share my new project 'Smart Little Minds'. I have been tutoring for years now and developed a real passion for supporting children with their learning. It is so rewarding to be part of their education!
