Farnaz Memari at TESOL Spain, supported by the Speak for IH grant, shared her session “Beyond Language Learning,” exploring how everyday teacher language and behaviour shape learning far beyond grammar and vocabulary.
Drawing on the SCARF model, she highlighted the power of soft skills, classroom presence, and respectful communication in motivating learners and building lasting impact.

Do you know that IH Academic Managers from around the globe have regular online meet-ups to share ideas, ask for advice and generally catch up with their peers in different countries.
Our community is one of the most special elements of the IH network. Being able to learn from colleagues working in different contexts and having a staff room of people in the same position is incredibly valuable.
