Integrating evidence-based practice into the early years curriculum: How ABA principles align with the EYFS 10/12/2025

Weโ€™re proud to share a new article written by Mikaela Green, MSc., BCBA, our School Principal and Clinical Director at First Bridge Education.

Mikaela is a highly experienced and passionate BCBAยฎ who has spent over 20 years working in Applied Behaviour Analysis within education and early childhood development. Her background includes serving on the Board of the UK Society for Behaviour Analysis, supporting multi and interdisciplinary teams, and guiding families through every stage of the EHCP process.

In this piece, Mikaela explores how evidence based practice aligns with the EYFS, and how ABA principles can strengthen early years environments. She highlights practical strategies that help young children learn with confidence, including breaking skills into manageable steps, using consistent routines, and reinforcing progress in ways that feel safe and encouraging.

If you would like to understand how these principles support young children day to day, you can listen to the podcast or read her full article here: https://thevoiceofearlychildhood.com/integrating-evidence-based-practice-into-the-early-years-curriculum-how-aba-principles-align-with-the-eyfs/

At First Bridge Education, Mikaelaโ€™s leadership and research continues to guide our approach for children aged 2 to 9, ensuring our school remains nurturing, structured and individually responsive.

If you would like to learn more about our provision or speak with our team, we would be glad to help.

๐Ÿ’™ โ€œLife-changing.โ€
This heartfelt message from one of our alumni families means the world to us.

We are deeply grateful to our community, to every family who places their trust in us, and every child whose journey we get to be part of. The greatest joy comes when a child leaves First Bridge thriving, confident, and ready for the next step.

The joy of seeing our children flourish long after they leave our care is what keeps us going. Thank you to our families for trusting us with that journey.
