This resonates so profoundly for me… as I feel into and think about the most incredible women in my family, the activist sisters I’ve stood next to in the struggle and the amazing clients I work with… each a cycle breaker each healing trauma and clearing the path for the future generations… truly brave and powerful… 💕 Anita

Embodied Race Resilience with Anita Bhardwaj and Raggi Kotak - Clapp with Jane with Jane Clapp 12/04/2021

Feeling excited and a little apprehensive!
We start the next programme of Race Resilience in just over a week!
Wow! That is exciting! We are in gfibsl prep mode. Putting the finishing touches to the programme.

We have a really great group coming together to journey with us for a 7-week programme - of teaching, group work, individual work, body based practices and dialogue.
All challenging the dynamics of racism and learning to 'surf the waves'!

Not just holding back. Not just pushing too quickly forward and overriding our truths - but being flexible and aware enough individually and in relationship - to bring deep and long lasting change. Or as I like to call it - learning to surf the waves!

If you are interested in a little more - Anita and I were interviewed about the course, our 25 year friendship and our intentions with this important work. Have a listen ...

Dear Friends and Allies,

We hope this email finds you well and resilient during these turbulent times.
There is no doubt that our capacity to navigate the challenges that are so frequently being high-lighted around racial justice in the world is stretched.

We have personally found this time has required us to lean into the practices that sustain us, connect with the networks that validate and affirm our anger, sadness and disbelief at the continuing injustices on BIPOC communities. Be it from yet further anti refugee attacks by a Home Secretary or disclosures of racism within the royal family. We are left dealing with the backlash from the ensuing conversations and social media storms. The continued need to defend our truth and rights can be exhausting.

Our challenge remains to be resilient in order to transform the adversities we experience. For us at Race Resilience ‘Transformational justice’ has been our intention and our goal - achieving it through reflecting on the enactment of power within race dynamics and the necessary skilled conversations that are needed to challenge the abuse of power.

As the next Race Resilience course begins this spring, we focus on hope and courage as key qualities that sustain our activism and our resilience through these times. We invite you to join us on our next course so that we can re-imagine a world of racial and social justice.
