āž”ļø Equity over equality. Rather than making sure everyone just has the same resources and opportunities, equity means that each person is given the resources they need to reach an equal outcome. It's a more inclusive way of operating!

āž”ļøNo more distorting/squashing yourself to fit

How is it the end of September already? šŸ¤¦ā€ā™€ļø
It was *supposed* to be the
A fresh start, a new quarter, the academic year..

It actually was:
Draining, sombre, overwhelming, seemingly-never ending, exhausting
and at the same time - can't believe it's nearly October and half-term break!!

For those gearing up for another few weeks in school -
know that we are here for you in the group,
and if something's on your mind post it there and get it out of your head....

If re-planning this quarter seems like too much…
Can you grab even a few minutes from tonight for yourself?
2-3mins
Writing out your intention and goal for the week...
even if that's just to make it through to Friday without too much drama -
makes it much more likely to happen....

Post-it notes can go on your wall, in the bathroom,
you can use a specific journal, or write it on your calendar or in your diary....
anywhere you will look at it daily…
You can set a reminder on your phone to pop up every day if paper isn't your thing...

See what works for you....

Remember these DYMO Label Makers? Threading the thick plastic tape through and doing one letter at a time and hoping it all came out the way you wanted it to!!

I'm still using this Brother PTouch 1010 - must be over ten years old - the Rolls Royce upgrade compared to the old DYMO

I've been reinstating the organisational systems of a great declutterer/home organiser with whom I worked with many times....
remembering that she said her Brother P-touch labeller was by far the most effective tool for maintaining systems and

Now I know why - it's so satisfying....I’m hooked šŸ˜‚

Amazing workshop series around productivity and a chance to learn more about co-working (virtual Zoom work-along) with the wonderful Cowork Crowd - if you haven't tried it before or think it won't work for you....tune in for free and see!!

Accountability sessions and workalongs can work fantastically well for neurodivergent brains to get stuff done - and I've both hosted, chaired and been an attendee for so many sessions in the last few years as well as being part of the Cowork Crowd...I love it - it's so effective!! šŸ˜

Join the dots!

Why does it fall to you to join the dots?

Because ultimately, you are the expert on your child.

You will need to advocate for them until they can do so for themselves,
to whatever degree.

I’m GrĆ”inne, a SEN parent of two boys with a shopping list of identificationsĀ
Ā including autism, ADHD, anxiety, cPTSD, dyslexia, dyspraxia and more.

As the SEN Doula, I work 1:1 with my clients to ensure they have all of the information and support they need to get the best possible outcome, in the best possible time frame for their absolutely šŸ’Æ unique family.

As a SEN parent, you’ve likely had conversations about your child
with various professionals and different settings -
parents’ evenings,
doctor’s appointments,
specialist assessments -
as well as the inevitable comparison
amongst family and friends as to
how your family members are doing compared to others….

Maybe you already know that your child is different…

Maybe you’re on an assessment pathway and waiting for your turn?

Maybe you have a full set of assessments and identifications and want to know what to make of them?

You don’t need to do it alone…
and getting the right support in terms of
who you’re working with,
and what’s in your toolbox of resources
will help preserve your sanity in the process!

Very often the biggest headache
for so many SEN families
comes when starting
the EHCP process (UK)

there's so much info out there
it’s so overwhelming to process it all
and
it’s hard to know how it applies in your case. Ā

āš”ļøI’m booking for September 1:1s already
so drop me a DM if you want to book in and secure your spotā€¦āš”ļø
