Happy to share that on Sunday Christian Azolan Treter and I hosted our first West London Society of Art and Hypha Studios 'Paint to Print' workshop at Stockley Park Art Studios. 🎨
Our artists had the valuable opportunity to learn the process of transforming their original artwork into limited-edition fine art prints. The two-hour session covered a comprehensive, step-by-step journey from concept to final print, including a detailed look at various types of paper and an interactive Q&A. This was followed by giving a tour of our evolving gallery space, which will soon be home to some truly remarkable art exhibitions. Stay tuned for what's to come!
I had the pleasure of delivering an Indian Folk art workshop on a beautiful Sunday afternoon in London/Covent Garden. I created two beautiful options for our
art workshop attendees with some of the most common motifs in Madhubani: sun/moon representing balance between masculine and feminine energy, and a pair of fish design, which
represents abundance and joy.
We applied Mithila art techniques to make hand-painted tote bags, that looked fabulous.
It was great to see everyone enjoy the class and have interesting conversations.
Thank you Ragini Jha .community for creating this very special event that I could collaborate with you on. We had the added bonus of providing their signature masala chai and tasty snacks provided by Ragini.
I'm exciting to be collaborating with Ragini Jha for my next Madhubani workshop.
Ragini created an event series to preserve South Asian cultural history and form meaningful connections. I was thrilled when she reached out to me to be part of something special.
At this workshop, we'll apply Mithila art techniques to make hand-painted tote bags.
We're also excited to partner with Chai Guys and provide their signature masala chai at this event!
Your support will help empower local artists through the Veena Jha Charitable Trust in Madhubani, Bihar.

A lovely group of women in today's Madhubani workshop
Sadly, this is my last workshop of the year.
The plan is to return next year in Spring, and with a new format. I hope you will join me then, but in the meantime, I will continue sharing all the exciting things I'll be doing.
Important news!
My next madhubani workshop is on 30th September
11-5pm
And the last workshop of the year will be on the 15th of October due to the temporary closure of the workshop space at Cass Art.
My workshops will resume in April 2024, most likely, but I will share more about that soon.
For a class to take place there must be 2 or more people booked.
Hope to see you soon.

Thank you team, for inviting me to run my Madhubani art class and celebrate South Asain Heritage Month.
It was great to see so many smiling faces and have a space that provided the opportunity for everyone to learn more about Indian culture.

Woman with basket. I had a lot of fun drawing this Madhubani picture. This is a little more advanced and something you would practice after a few classes.

The first page of my Madhubani book is a drawing of the Hindu God Ganesh.
Ganesha is the Remover of Obstacles.
Worshipping Lord Ganesha regularly wards off negative energy from one's home and life, while worshipping him before starting something new keeps obstacles out of one's path.
