The Student Lounge at University House is open again starting from today, Wednesday 21 October! The Lounge is open from 12-1pm and 2-3pm every day, for a two-week trial. Social distancing rules apply in order to keep you, your friends and our staff safe. The microwaves will also be available for your use.

🥳Happy birthday to us! 🥳 It was exactly 10 years ago this week that we first opened our doors and welcomed students to Coventry University London. What started as a small campus in central London has now evolved into a whole community celebrating equality, diversity and inclusion.

Whilst the pandemic may have delayed us from going ahead with some of our scheduled ten-year anniversary celebrations, we are working hard to plan our on-campus celebration for 2021.

Event 1 on 13 October 2020 15:30-16:30 BST: Quickly make your business big through franchising to local entrepreneurs by Len Rainford, a successful leader of franchise businesses, and an entrepreneur in residence at Lancaster University. Len will talk about the strategy of franchising and how companies can franchise their businesses to local entrepreneurs as a way to expand or scale.

Event 2 on Tuesday the 20th Oct 15:30-16:30 BST: The logistics and transport business opportunity by Jon Harris, an expert in Logistics and transport businesses. Jon will discuss the importance of logistics and transport to a growing economy - particularly, a business opportunity in all emerging economies.

On 21st July, the The Agri-Food Business and Entrepreneurship Society at Coventry University London will host a live-streamed online event called ‘How food can save the world’. The event will provide a platform for inspiring, fresh, strategic conversations about importance of food to history and the future of civilisation.

As part of the event we like to showcase the most innovative start-ups, products and companies reinventing food and food systems from around the world. The event will include 3 exiting mini sessions:

1. Agri-Food Start Up Showcase – 11:00 - 12:00
2. Discussion: Global food trends 2030 - 12:-00 - 13:00
3. Interview with Carolyn Steel, the author of ‘Sitopia. Hhow food can save the world’ 13:00 – 14:00

We are pleased to welcome Sonya Barlow, Founder & Entrepreneur, Tedx Speaker and Diversity & Inclusion Expert, who will deliver a guest lecture to our entrepreneurship students.
Sonya will be talking about the importance of networking for entrepreneurs, and the barriers of starting a business and how to overcome them.

We are pleased that Paul Burns, Emeritus Professor Entrepreneurship at the University of Bedfordshire and author of one of our favourite Entrepreneurship textbooks, will give a guest lecture on entrepreneurship! Wednesday 12th November 12-2pm in room G.09. All staff and students are welcome.
