Hi I'm Becky, a local mum and Early Years Teacher. I am starting childminding in September 2022 and will have two places available for under-fives. I live just moments from Walthamstow Central Station and from Queen's Road Station. My hours will be 8.30am until 5.30pm Monday to Thursday.
I have been lucky enough to work in outstanding Early Years settings in both State and Private schools. I will use my teaching experience to provide a friendly, fun environment which will help your child thrive. I will encourage your child’s interests and enable them to learn through different play opportunities. I am both empathetic and enthusiastic and look forward to helping your child to develop to the best of their potential.
I am offering organic vegetarian meals but should you prefer to provide alternatives I am happy to accommodate your child’s dietary requirements.
Walthamstow has lots to offer and I plan on making the most of all the parks and green spaces with daily excursions. I will also regularly make trips to the toy library, local play and music groups as well as soft play. In the summer I hope to have picnics with the children on the wetlands. In the winter I plan to get on our waterproofs and wellies, jump in some puddles and feed the ducks in Lloyds park.
Home based activities will include painting, cooking and role play. As someone who is passionate about the environment I have tried to source predominantly wooden toys and have considered carefully the products I use in my home. With each activity inside and outside I will ensure instant feedback and celebrate all achievements. I believe it is important to encourage social skills and friendships, rewarding and reinforcing positive behaviour.
I am looking forward to devoting time and attention to the children in my care and building a strong bond. I believe in great communication both with the children and you, their parents. I will give daily feedback on their wellbeing and progress.
