"In tutor time, Year 7 students had the opportunity to show Mr Hayes the bookwork and classwork they were proud of. They chose what to share, and we were so impressed by the creativity, neatness, and amount of work completed. Keep up the hard work, Year 7 legends!" โ€” Miss Cutting, Head of Year 7.

๐Ÿ“– As part of our World Book Day programme, local author Sue Wallman ran engaging and interactive workshops for Year 9 pupils on writing thrillers, sparking their imaginations and creativity!

Here are some examples of thriller openings written by the students:

"Silhouetted trees stood before me โ€” rustling in sync, leaves grazed the brittle sole of my ash-coated high-tops."

"The check engine light flashes a deep, blood red in my dark, cocoon-like car. This time, I steer left off the motorway to park at the SOS stop. Rain drizzles into my hazy eyes as I wave to locate the phone box."

"In the darkest, deepest forest of the Spanish Territory lies a pair of glasses. Not just any pair โ€” they belonged to my mother. Itโ€™s the only clue to what happened the night she went missing."

Great work, Year 9!
