3 years ago I called in a panic looking for a last minute venue to host a class (right there and then as the other venue had bailed!) and they told me to come on over. Since then I have been lucky enough to run my classes from this wonderful venue.

This week I was given the very sad news that the pub as we know it is closing, and so this week has been my last week of classes at the pub 💔 it’s true that sometimes you don’t know what you’ve got til it’s gone… I just want to say a huge thank you to the pub and team for being so friendly and welcoming over the years, especially Rob and Karen. It has grown to feel like a home from home - I am so grateful to have been able to use the space and will treasure the many great memories! 💖

I have been desperate to do a project inspired by artist with the kids - I just knew how much they would be wowed by her fun, colourful, whimsical and weirdly wonderful style 🌈🦄🍄

Looking at her work was also a great opportunity to explore layered compositions, and to get them thinking about the energy and contrast in their pictures. It just goes to show art does not have to be serious to be seriously cool!! ✨

A collaborative artwork made up of the children’s thoughts, hopes and concerns around AI… I was very conscious not to push anything positive or negative but rather let them do the thinking. Would love to know your thoughts 💭🤖

Here is a little Mother’s Day tribute to the person that has inspired me throughout my life, the one and only 🧶🎸🌳🩷

From the time you spent with us as kids nurturing our creativity, to the spare room you allowed to become our studio, to the music and craft you have brought to the camps and workshops, and many hours talking to me and letting me bounce ideas off you!! Even the good and crazy genes you passed on, none of YAS would have been possible without you!

You have been a constant and endless source of inspiration and support 💞 I like to think it’s two way but I have a feeling I’ve got a way to go to balance the scales… happy Mother’s Day! I hope it’s filled with crochet, music and a margarita 🍸💐 # #
