HRUC - Harrow, Richmond & Uxbridge Colleges were proud to welcome Amazon Web Services to our Uxbridge Campus to provide an innovative mini project for our Higher Education students across Engineering, Business, and Computing and the talent was incredible!
Students worked in groups to tackle a real-world brief inspired by modern data centre operations, designing innovative robotic and drone-based solutions to map environments, verify equipment, and monitor critical conditions.
👏 Huge congrats to the winners and everyone who took part!

Compassionate, Intelligent, Grounded - Valentina describes her Award-winning Cranial Cooler project 🚀
Meet Valentina, a Level 3 Engineering student at HRUC - Harrow, Richmond & Uxbridge Colleges and winner of our 2025 National Innovation Challenge, whose exceptional talent earned her a trip to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Boston. Her project, the Cranial Cooler, is a wearable device designed to safely regulate head temperature for migraines, injuries, and neurological conditions.

We were proud to recently celebrate International Women’s Day at HRUC - Harrow, Richmond & Uxbridge Colleges with an inspiring all-women panel of professionals from Amazon connecting 100+ students across HRUC campuses through our immersive rooms ✨
Students explored careers in tech, asked honest questions about confidence and challenges, and participated in a hands-on LEGO engineering challenge racing their creations 🚀
A huge thank you to Amazon’s female panellists for sharing their experiences and helping inspire the next generation of innovators at the West London Institute of Technology.

Meet Xavier Choudhry, a student from Uxbridge College who took on the challenge of making 3D printing more sustainable. His project transforms discarded plastic bottles into high-quality filament for 3D printers—reducing waste, cutting costs, and promoting eco-friendly practices.
