Do I still sleep train if my baby is poorly?
Short answer No!
Longer answer is i wouldn’t as when we are poorly sleep is the best medicine we can give ourselves and our children.
So when they are ill my advise would be to go with the flow
Let them sleep when they need to and get them well again
Then once they are better get straight back on the plan again and it should take them no time at all to get back into it
Happy to answer any questions xx

Halloween 🎃
Lots of children are allergic or intolerant to all kinds of foods which makes Halloween 🎃 and trick or treat less fun for them
My own child is included in this as we found out this year that she’s intolerant to something in sweets but as there is way too many ingredients in sweets it is difficult for her to be tested for this .. this is going to make Halloween trickier for us !
So thinking out the box who said you have to hand out just sweets for Halloween how about also offering an alternative for the children who can’t have them like maybe a sticker to collect!

Clock ⏰ change
So it’s that time of year again when the clocks go back! Most parents worry about the clocks changing and how their baby or child is going to cope!
If we just stand back and think about it the truth is babies and children can’t tell the time … they go by association instead ie bathtime, bedtime etc and not what a clock says! So the best way to deal with clock change is to keep their routines the same but to the new timings and it should all slot into place if you let it.
If you don’t think this will work for your little one then the other way is to gradually bring your child’s or babies routine forward by 10 minutes a day on the lead up to the clock change and by the time the clocks go back an hour your little one won’t notice! 🛌

If you have a poorly child who is refusing any solids or liquids then I would suggest organic ice lollies just while you get some fluids into them
This will help if them especially if they have a sore throat or any sores in their mouth
They are also sweet and refreshing so will be appealing to them hopefully and help to get some fluids into their tummy
I would also still offer them food and milk along side this but offer her smaller portions than you normally do as when they are feeling poorly a normal portion you are offering them may seem overwhelming to them at the moment so they will refuse it (you can always offer more when they have finished the first portion)
You can also make milk into ice lollies or your own lollies with a baby lolly kit
Another thing to do is just put some soft fruit or food on their high chair tray and let them do it in their own time
Sometimes it’s better to step away and make yourself look busy to them and without the pressure they might just slowly help themselves (obviously stay fairly close but if you look distracted and not focused on her they might be tempted to pop something into their mouth) -
Once they do this a couple of times they will know that it’s ok now to eat again! 🍱
