Is your child starting Reception this September? ❤️🎒

For some parents, this is your first child starting “big school” and you’re quietly wondering:

Will they cope? Will they settle? Will they make friends? Will they be able to keep up?

And sometimes, you’ve done this before with an older child… but you know this child is different.

That’s okay. Every child needs their own starting point.

Getting ready for Reception isn’t just about knowing the alphabet or counting to 20.

It’s also about helping your child:

✅Recognise and look after their own belongings
✅Become more independent with dressing and everyday routines
✅Communicate their needs and ask for help
✅Listen to stories, follow simple instructions and build early literacy skills
✅Develop confidence with early numbers and mathematical thinking
✅Share, take turns and interact with other children
✅Feel secure, confident and excited about starting school

That’s why our Reception classes are designed to help children build the foundations they need before stepping into Reception.

Not to rush childhood.

Not to turn learning into pressure.

But to help your child arrive at “big school” feeling more confident, capable and ready to learn.

👇 Comment “RECEPTION” and let’s help you give your child a smoother, more confident start to their Reception journey.

Because the goal isn’t to have a child who knows everything before school starts. It’s to help them feel ready for everything that comes next. ❤️

Do your 11+ classes include mock exams and test practice?

If your child is in Year 3, Year 4 or Year 5, this is a question you should be asking before the pressure of the 11+ arrives.

Because knowing the content is one thing.

Knowing how to handle the exam is another.

Can your child:

❓ Work through unfamiliar question styles confidently?
❓ Manage their time when the clock is running?
❓ Recognise the type of question being asked?
❓ Stay focused when a paper becomes challenging?
❓ Apply what they know under timed conditions?

That is why preparation should be more than simply completing worksheets every week.

At Tecnis Academy, our 11+ preparation supports children across key areas including:

📚 English
➗ Mathematics
🧠 Verbal Reasoning
🔷 Non-Verbal Reasoning

And as children progress, practice and familiarisation matter. Different 11+ and grammar-school entrance tests can use different formats, question types and timings, so children benefit from becoming comfortable with the demands of the particular assessment they are preparing for.

The goal isn’t to make your child anxious about an exam.

It is to make the exam environment feel familiar enough that their ability can actually show.

So, if you’re looking at the new academic year and thinking, “Maybe we should start preparing now…”

You’re thinking about it at the right time.

👇 Comment “11 ” and let us help you understand how to get your child started with intentional preparation this academic year.

Don’t wait for Year 6 to introduce the pressure. Build the skills, confidence and exam readiness before they need them.

How to position your child for scholarship opportunities this new academic year 🎓

here are 5 areas to focus on this academic year:

1. Strengthen academic performance
Scholarship opportunities often require children to demonstrate strong academic ability. Identify weak areas early and work on them consistently.

2. Build beyond the classroom
Academic results matter, but so does developing a child who can think independently, communicate confidently and demonstrate their strengths.

3. Prepare for the right assessments
Don’t wait until an application or examination is announced. Build the knowledge, reasoning and exam skills your child may need ahead of time.

4. Know your child’s strengths
What makes your child stand out? Strong Maths? Exceptional writing? Leadership? Creativity? Academic excellence? Understanding this helps you identify opportunities that genuinely fit them.

5. Start before you think you need to.
The biggest mistake is waiting for the scholarship opportunity before beginning the preparation.

Positioning is preparation. Preparation creates readiness.

At Tecnis Academy, we support students academically and help families understand how to prepare their children for opportunities that can shape their educational journey.

Your child doesn’t need to be perfect.

But they do need to be prepared, supported and given the opportunity to develop their potential.

👇 Comment “SCHOLARSHIP” and we’ll share guidance on how to prepare your child and improve their chances of being ready for UK scholarship opportunities this new academic year.

Is your child moving into Year 4 this September? Then this is the time to start paying attention. 🎯

Because Year 4 is not just another year of primary school.

The work becomes more demanding. Expectations increase. Children are expected to think more independently, apply what they have learned and become increasingly confident in tackling unfamiliar questions.

So ask yourself:

❓ Is your child confident with Maths, or are there gaps that are becoming harder to ignore?

❓ How strong are their English, reading comprehension, vocabulary and grammar?

❓ Can they explain their thinking, not just give an answer?

❓ Are they developing the reasoning skills needed to tackle unfamiliar problems?

❓ Are they confident enough to work independently when the work gets challenging?

And what about Verbal Reasoning and Non-Verbal Reasoning?

These aren’t skills you want your child to encounter for the first time when academic pressure is already high.

At Tecnis Academy, our Year 4 classes are designed to help children build strong academic foundations across:

📚 English
➗ Maths
🧠 Verbal Reasoning
🔷 Non-Verbal Reasoning

Because we’re not just interested in helping a child complete today’s work.

We’re interested in helping them become the child who can understand it, apply it, think independently and walk into the next academic stage with confidence. Will they be ready for their MTC Exam, it happens in year 4

And that foundation starts now.

Whether your child learns online or at one of our physical centres, the goal remains the same:

Build the knowledge. Strengthen the skills. Grow the confidence. Prepare for what comes next.

👇 Comment “YEAR 4” and we’ll show you how your child can get started with the right academic support for the new school year.

Don’t wait until the gaps become the problem. Build the foundation while there’s still time to strengthen it.

Parents of children starting Year 1 this September, this one is for you. ❤️📚

Year 1 is such a beautiful little turning point.

Your child is still your baby, but suddenly school starts asking for a little more independence, a little more focus and a little more confidence.

So, before the new academic year begins, ask yourself:

Can they recognise and read words confidently?
Are they becoming comfortable with numbers and simple calculations?
Can they follow instructions independently?
Do they feel confident asking questions when they don’t understand?
And most importantly, do they feel excited and supported as they learn?

They don’t need to know everything.

They need someone willing to meet them where they are, understand how they learn and take them step by step.

At Tecnis Academy, we believe the early years of learning should be built on patience, encouragement, strong foundations and confidence.

Because sometimes, the biggest academic journeys begin with the smallest steps. ❤️

👇 Comment “YEAR 1” and let’s help you understand the right support for your child as they begin this new academic year.

Good manners are not old-fashioned they’re one of the greatest gifts we can give our children.

Long before children sit an interview, apply for university, start a career, or step into leadership, they’re already being remembered for how they communicate, show respect, interact with others, and carry themselves with confidence.

In a world where academic achievement is important, character, courtesy, and social confidence remain just as valuable.

Join us for an insightful conversation as we explore how modern etiquette helps children build stronger relationships, develop self-confidence, and navigate school and everyday life with confidence and respect.
