👇This is something I feel very strongly about. Putting yourself first isn’t selfish - in fact it is the number one thing you can do to help and support all the people that rely on you.

More importantly, if you never give yourself the time or space to think, how do you know what is important to you, what your values are, who your ideal client is, what you really want to do with your business, which products or services you truly want to offer, what transformational promise you can give? You think you know, but you don’t actually know.

What fantastic self-care ideas do you have that energise you?

If I could go back to when I first set up my business and give myself one piece of advice it would be this: Find your "why". I thought I knew my why but looking back I had not gone deep enough to understand what I truly wanted my business to do and who I wanted to work with.

How did this manifest itself? A LOT of wasted time and money chasing shiny objects that didn't align with me or my business. I even tried setting up a lighting business, which couldn't have been further from my strengths and what I wanted to do!

So whatever stage you are at now with your business, just take a moment to pause and ask yourself - what is my why and is my business aligned with this ❤️

I was having a wonderful chat with a new friend of mine yesterday about the importance of making s-p-a-c-e for ourselves so that we can think and recharge.

After I ended the call I did just that - I took myself off for a walk just to think and an image of a knitted colourful patchwork blanket popped up into my head. Not far behind it was the thought that we are all a little bit like a patchwork blanket. Hmmm, you may think - that's a bit of a stretch...but stay with me!

We all have so many different experiences and parts of our lives that we knit together and collect as we go along - it is what makes us unique. I thought about all the women that I work with that are paralyzed by imposter syndrome - thinking that they can never launch or grow their business because they are not like all the successful "experts" in their niche.

What if they could see all the bright, rich colours of their own patchwork quilt and realise that people will come to them simply because they are not like all the others. Wouldn't that be a nice feeling?

How amazing is this word? It really resonates with one of my core beliefs - we all have flaws and we need to embrace them and show up anyway.

In a social media fueled world, isn't it refreshing to find these "flawsome" people. People who can say, "Even with my flaws, I know that I am enough!" ❤️

Massive high five and thank you to Mel Robbins for nailing the advice on learning to let go in her The Mel Robbins podcast episode. It really struck a chord with me and I thought, "Why have I not been doing this? It's so obvious!".

The metaphor with the autumn tree was spot on - who better to follow than nature 🍁🍂🌳

If you haven't listened to it. You MUST!

My biggest take out was this: When we want to make a change in our lives we always look at what we could ADD to make it new/exciting/better. What if we turn that thought upside down and look at what we can SUBTRACT first that is draining our energy. That way we can create more space and time for something positive and energizing.

This works with relationships, beliefs, habits. Try it and thank me (well Mel!) later 💞

Taking a risk can be scary - especially when it requires spending money and/or losing money AND comes with no guarantee of the outcome you desire.

I like to put risks into two categories (although I am sure there are many other ways to view them) - calculated risk and "leap of faith" risk. Calculated risk is becoming more in my comfort zone but those leap of faith risks still scare the life out of me and leave me lying wide awake for weeks whilst I decide whether I have the guts to go for it.

I've taken two massive "leaps of faith" in my life:
1) Deciding to leave my well-paid, safe job to retrain as a teacher.
2) Eight years later, leaving my teaching job to set up my own tutoring business.

Both risks had no guarantee of success but each time I knew deep down it was something that I had to do to move myself forwards and find a way to earn money in a way that was authentic to me.

Both times, I risked a regular, guaranteed salary for potentially no income. Both also involved a great deal of hard work, self-motivation and determination.

Do I regret these "leap of faith" risks? Definitely not.
Would I do it again - Hell, Yes!

Although the outcome in both cases wasn't at all what I imagined, I know that I am where I am today because I plucked up the courage to say, "Yes, why not?"

Probably THE MOST IMPORTANT thing you can do. It doesn't need to be anything big or expensive - even just a bubble bath or some fresh air and a walk.

Drop me an emoji in the comments and let me know what you have done today/this week or now plan to do to invest in your own self-care ❤️

What negative thought or belief is getting in your way today?

"I'm not good enough"
"I don't have the time"
"If I had more money then..."
"No one wants to listen to what I have to say"
"I should be more successful by now"

We all carry around so many untrue stories about ourselves that we unconditionally believe - hook, link and sinker.

How would it feel to break free of this thought pattern that is holding you back? Not tomorrow, right now!

What one thing would you be able to do today if you called BS on your negative voice vampires?

It is not our life or circumstances that are getting in our way, it is us! Simple truth.

Sometimes you have to just get in the ring with your inner critic and say "Enough! I don't believe that any more".

Only then can you get out of your way and get what you want or deserve.

Drop a comment below to let me know what you are calling BS on today 💪

Do you believe this quote? I didn't - not two years ago anyway.

I was up to my eye balls hustling (thinking that if I worked harder on my business that I would make more money and be more successful, you know!) when life decided to throw me a massive curve ball - a torn ACL to be exact.

I DON'T HAVE TIME FOR THIS (the first thought screaming in my head) but of course I had to make time. I had to put my self-care first.

After two majorly frustrating weeks, something amazing began to happen. I was making decisions more easily and things in my business were feeling the most aligned they'd been in AGES.

Curious to know why (you know I love a bit of learning), I looked into this idea further and it turns out that putting your own self-care as the compass of your business is actually a winning formula 🙌

Still not 100% convinced (but with nothing to lose), I began to implement what I was reading and started my own adventure into working on my personal growth as a strategy for growing my business.

It is by no means a quick fix and you've got to put in the work (something I am still consistently working on even now) but I really saw the benefits both in my business and personal life.

So, I am now on a mission with my Thriving Entrepreneur’s Hub to help all you wonderful female entrepreneurs discover that you too are the most important ingredient in your own recipe for success - whether you are just starting out on your entrepreneurial journey or are an old hand looking to grow to the next level.

Voice vampires....who has these? Definitely me 🙋‍♀️ They love to whisper your worse limiting thoughts just as you are trying to get yourself motivated and going. So that's why I make sure there is always a safe space for you to voice those thoughts so that you can get the support and encouragement you need to get straight back on track.

You see the most amazing ad for a high ticket course and deep down you know it really could move your business forward. You agonize for days but just can't quite say yes. Then you spot a very similar course at half the price. That nagging voice in your head starts, "but it's so much cheaper...it can't be as good value"....or can it?

Low cost does not have to equal low value! Not at The Thriving Entrepreneur's Hub.

I am on a mission to create and provide affordable solutions for you at a price that you can say YES! to whilst still packing them with amazing value 👌
