A thrilling visit to the Science Museum today as we visited three exhibition galleries.

The first was Medicine Gallery - which took us from early ideas and experiments right up to modern science - which I think is amazing and we have all benefited from these studies.

The second was the Information Age Gallery - which took us from early communication including laying telegraph cables under the ocean right up to modern videos and calls.

The third was Who Am I? - an interactive fun gallery where you could actually play games and learn things about yourself.

We had our monthly visit to the tasty Second Chance Cafe by St Mary’s Stoke Newington Church Street.
Lots of wonderful volunteers helping us enjoy our red/yellow/green soups, fruit crumble and custard, coffee/tea, and cake too.
It’s always a pleasure to be there.

Sometimes we have outings that just blow us away, today was one of those days.

We contacted Westminster Abbey as so many of our group, including myself, had never been inside before, and they were incredible, offering us free guided tours. We took 28, split into two groups, and it was awesome.

We learnt so much history and saw astonishing architecture and stonework. The burials that have taken place as well as commemorative statues and plaques. It was so good. One of my favourite ever. And that was down to the wonderful staff and guides.

Wow! Our group loved the visit to the Open Evening at St Paul’s Cathedral. Astonishing architecture and history with the Crypt too. We even learnt that Vergers got their name from the Virge, which they used to carry around to clear people from walking in front of the Dean.

We had a cracking afternoon at Sadlers Wells to see the San Francisco Ballet performing Mere Mortals.

This was a reimagining of Pandora’s Jar from Greek mythology with a modern twist and pulsating music which we really enjoyed.

The dancing and music were both exquisite, accompanied by huge visual colourful projections.
