Hillls

Solo Sunday morning long run in the Chiltern Hills.

I had the Centurion's Hundred Hills 50k gpx still on my Coros so I thought I'd take on the first half which starts and ends in Stonor Park.

This was a lovely loop with some punchy climbs and some fun, flowy downhills. It gave me the opportunity to get out the poles and to test the body.

It was so so peaceful. I saw more sheep than actual people out there on the trails!

There's a slight temptation to sign up for something before the year comes to a close but it's about keeping the promises to myself. Sometimes it's about having the discpline to not engage with those shiny things and to stay on our own path - listening to our inner voice.

This is still a year to build, to stay healthy, for personal passion projects & to move through the trails with gratitude & joy. It's reminding myself that events will be there next year and that I choose. It's the actual realisation that I don't actually need to race. I run for something else. I run for me.

Friendship

Celebrating 30 years of friendship with the Seven Sisters Hike - 21k, Seaford to Eastbourne.

A memorablel day with beautiful weather & stunning views on this coastal trail. This was intentional time spent reflecting, being present and talking about our hopes for the future.

These friendships were created back at Uni, strengthened throughout the years & built to last. Deep & meaningful.

Having these types of relationships are a gift, a rarity nowadays, so valauable and should never be taken for granted.

Return

The return to Boxhill. Over a year since I last ran this beautiful loop.

It was good to see her again, though she was pretty unforgiving.

This route has always been a decent measure of where I'm at. And this Saturday it kept me honest. I had to hike most of the hills and was super cautious on the downs.

But as always, there were no regrest in revisiting. I feel fitness, strength and confidence returning.

Going solo, going internal, doing the things that bring us joy - help us return back to ourselves.

Ivinghoe

Fan Y Big

Part 2 of our Brecons adventure. The weather was much better and so we were treated to some womderful views on top of Cribyn & Fan Y Big.

Just got to the campsite which has stunnimg views of the 4 sumitts we done over the last couple of days.

Am so so grateful I got to do this all kinda last minute! It all started with an early Fathers Day present from Gigi - a pop up tent! Then it was a mattet of simply about seizing the opportunity & taking action! I have an understanding family who literally said, "Its your Fathers Day, do what you want to do" 😊
